...DENSE FOG ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 2 AM EST WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog.

* WHERE...Washington DC, portions of Maryland, Virginia, and the
  eastern panhandle of West Virginia.

* WHEN...Until 2 AM EST Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Conditions will improve south of the warm
  front overnight. To the north, fog may persist through daybreak.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of
distance ahead of you.

Will:    This is probably a little more accurate considering the nature of the incoming system, though I must question the hole south of D.C..

High res. models sometimes have distortion because of noise and range and angular resolution.

Was stuck in the gloom and doom all morning and in the mid 40's. Last 30 minutes or so the sun has broken out and now 52 degrees. 

Drove home from Deep Creek and actually saw the sun this morning out there and it was warmish. Soon as went past Hagerstown on I-70, hit a wall of fog at the top of South Mountain and it was foggy from there till home. Temp also dropped in the 40s. 

Also saw haze out west, I'm guessing from those VA fires.
