Looks like the Catoctins are about to get a dusting. I thought about hiking up there today. Wind gust to 60 and cold temps sound fun.
42 with a few sprinkles here earlier.

Kind of a mixed bag here. Definitely some flakes mixed in, though. My balcony faces the mountain chain…looks like snow/fog up there.

Wasn’t expected any rain, though…that part is kind of ridiculous given how cold it’s been. Warm oceans and stuff, I guess.

Grantsville, Md. 7:15am Thursday

Wet snow began around 10pm Wed, temp 36, S wind.

Brief thunder and lightning around 2am with wind shift from S to W. Temps fell all night with NW winds.

About 16° now with very light snow. A general 2”-3” overnight, less than the 3”-5” forecasted.

Forecast is for snowshowers today and windy, light snow 1-3” tonite, tapering off during Friday morning, and then a little sun. Continued windy but slowly decreasing tomorrow.

Currently 16 with a beautiful sunny sunrise. As @Herb@MAWS noted, a maybe-generous 2-3" snowfall last night in Garrett County. Generally, snowfall here doesn't get the locals fired up (yours truly the exception) but the Blizzard Warning did the trick. Stores crowded, local government offices closed, that kind of thing. But, unless the upslope really gets going after this sunny start to the day, this was a giant dud (albeit better than the 55 and rain we're going to see in a few days).

I mean it was a quick dusting on the deck and mulch that disappeared in 10 minutes. So I’d say yes. B)

Living in AA County use to be the pits. Everyone nw of me would always get snow while I got rain. Now it doesn't matter anymore. We all suck lol

42 and waiting on anything interesting. I guess I'll take wind. Jesus winter is boring now lol

Might have had a flake or two.  But it was dark and scary with all the holiday lights off and I was afraid of the wind they say is coming

I understand your fear. After reading my scary forecast of "whiteout conditions" and "winter survival kits", the only thing that's currently limiting visibility is the GD sun blaring me in the face. Stay strong.
