Cool! (literally lol) Low was 14.3 here, close but 1979's 12 holds. What I DID set was a new 'cool max' at 31.3 degrees, breaking 33.0 from both 2005 and 2010. 

LOL, I just realized I made 3 of the last 9 comments about my 31.3 high, sorry folks! :rolleyes:

Was nice driving west watching changing Columbia blue sky go to wispy clouds past Frederick to thickening clouds after HGR to the sky looking like snow toward Frostburg to !BOOM! flurries and snowshowery by Frostburg on westward to all afternoon flurries near Keyser Ridge (since noon). 
 

No snow otg heading west of Cumberland. First snow otg at Frostburg. 

Tuesday morning update from Grantsville/2800’ up  — Flurried all night. Ongoing heavier snow showers this morning coated car. 16°. WSW issued for Wed night 4-8” and mention of possible blizzard conditions.

Had to run to Johnson City TN this morning. Sounds far but only 210 miles from where I live. Snowed off and on for the last 90 miles. Some places had over an inch. Pic is near Mt Rodgers on I81. Accidental chases are the best lol

Fun part of the afternoon disco for the mountains:

In the mountains, blizzard conditions are becoming likely for most
areas along and west of the Allegheny Front. Very cold air and
a deep moisture connection to the Great Lakes will set the stage
for a potent snow squall event along the Allegheny Front.
Forecast snow amounts between Wednesday night and Thursday
morning are between 4 and 6 inches with potentially higher
amounts up to around 9 inches along the western-facing slopes
above 2500 feet. In most of the Alleghenies, winds likely gust
well above 35-40 mph. With an air mass this cold, the
snow/liquid ratios are going to be very high, leading to a fine,
powdery snow. This paired with the aforementioned wind gusts
could lead to whiteout conditions at times. Treacherous travel
conditions are likely in the mountains Thursday morning. Even
after snow ends, the blowing snow will make travel difficult at
best through Thursday night.

Sitting tight in a cabin in Keysers Ridge/Grantsville area (2800’) 10mi NE of Accident, waiting for tomorrow night’s snow and possible blizzard conditions. Western snow forecast zones are tightly packed so could get anything from 1-3” … to 5-8”. No grass in sight here. Still have a solid 3” otg from last week’s 15” snowfall. 

Monday hi 20 — flurries all day

Today’s hi 22 —  Coating of snow on car this morning.  Light constant snowshowers/flurries all day but for 2 hours of partial sun late morning, otherwise flurries.  Even when it’s not really snowing there seems to be plenty of wispy flakes passing by.

  chills will drop to near or below zero by Thursday evening.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Travel should be restricted to emergencies only. If you must travel,
have a winter survival kit with you. If you get stranded, stay with
your vehicle. The latest road conditions for the state you are
calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.

A Blizzard Warning means severe winter weather conditions are
expected or occurring. Falling and blowing snow with strong winds
are likely. This will lead to whiteout conditions, making travel
extremely dangerous. Do not travel. If you must travel, have a
winter survival kit with you. If you get stranded, stay in your
vehicle.
