I tied a record low for this morning going back to 1893!!!

The record was 10 set in 1976. This morning I recorded 9.7 rounded up to 10.

Cool! (literally lol) Low was 14.3 here, close but 1979's 12 holds. What I DID set was a new 'cool max' at 31.3 degrees, breaking 33.0 from both 2005 and 2010.

LOL, I just realized I made 3 of the last 9 comments about my 31.3 high, sorry folks!

From my cabin in Grantsville, Md along Keyser Ridge at 2800’ ASL

—arrived midday temp at 20° and same all afternoon. Light constant flurries. Still 2-3” otg from last week’s 15”.

Wed night forecast has my attention: 80% chance snow windy 45-55+ mph into first part of Thursday. Nice potential setup for this location and particularly this elevation with a strong cold front and upper level energy

Was nice driving west watching changing Columbia blue sky go to wispy clouds past Frederick to thickening clouds after HGR to the sky looking like snow toward Frostburg to !BOOM! flurries and snowshowery by Frostburg on westward to all afternoon flurries near Keyser Ridge (since noon).

No snow otg heading west of Cumberland. First snow otg at Frostburg.

Tuesday morning update from Grantsville/2800’ up  — Flurried all night. Ongoing heavier snow showers this morning coated car. 16°. WSW issued for Wed night 4-8” and mention of possible blizzard conditions.

Had to run to Johnson City TN this morning. Sounds far but only 210 miles from where I live. Snowed off and on for the last 90 miles. Some places had over an inch. Pic is near Mt Rodgers on I81. Accidental chases are the best lol

Latest LWX forecast.   AFD mentioned possibility of Winter Storm Watches for the mountains but confidence not quite high enough yet.  Would be my 3rd time seeing snow falling in Alexandria this season if this map verifies.

LWX posted a watch earlier this morning for the mountains - mentions blizzard conditions possible.

Fun part of the afternoon disco for the mountains:

In the mountains, blizzard conditions are becoming likely for most
areas along and west of the Allegheny Front. Very cold air and
a deep moisture connection to the Great Lakes will set the stage
for a potent snow squall event along the Allegheny Front.
Forecast snow amounts between Wednesday night and Thursday
morning are between 4 and 6 inches with potentially higher
amounts up to around 9 inches along the western-facing slopes
above 2500 feet. In most of the Alleghenies, winds likely gust
well above 35-40 mph. With an air mass this cold, the
snow/liquid ratios are going to be very high, leading to a fine,
powdery snow. This paired with the aforementioned wind gusts
could lead to whiteout conditions at times. Treacherous travel
conditions are likely in the mountains Thursday morning. Even
after snow ends, the blowing snow will make travel difficult at
best through Thursday night.

Sitting tight in a cabin in Keysers Ridge/Grantsville area (2800’) 10mi NE of Accident, waiting for tomorrow night’s snow and possible blizzard conditions. Western snow forecast zones are tightly packed so could get anything from 1-3” … to 5-8”. No grass in sight here. Still have a solid 3” otg from last week’s 15” snowfall.

Monday hi 20 — flurries all day

Today’s hi 22 —  Coating of snow on car this morning.  Light constant snowshowers/flurries all day but for 2 hours of partial sun late morning, otherwise flurries.  Even when it’s not really snowing there seems to be plenty of wispy flakes passing by.
