Drinking Other Half Dank Ivy IPA and Elder Pine Moonscribe Vol 1 so far. Some Sapwood or South County coming up next. BTW—my reviews of beer is much better than my winter storm analysis.  Follow me on Untappd if you’re on there. I’m “Scraff” in there too.

I like alot of the Other Half products....never found that particular one. Most of their stuff is the same grain bill, just different hopping varieties and techniques....smart marketing on their part. Their stuff is enjoyable but I started getting bored with them.

When I’m in the mood for a killer hazy, they are my go to without a doubt. When I’m in the mood for ANY other style, I go many different ways on that one. I totally get your drift though. BTW. Human Robot in Philly—some of the best Pilsners, Lagers, etc I’ve ever had (aside from being in Europe). Check’em out if you haven’t already.

good try Terps.

Queen is a versatile big, though I do think the lottery pick comments are premature.  The NBA is fast, tall, and athletic unless you're Jokic.  Otherwise, the Terps are definitely better than last year, but do need to shoot better.  Could also use a little more quickness at guard, but I don't think it's a showstopper.

I’m selfishly glad those fantasy snowstorms didn’t work out this week. It’s tech week at the studio, with a holiday recital Saturday. Would have been more stressful with a snowstorm in the mix

I totally hear you on that (as much as I love snow), having dealt with a similar situation when my daughter was doing ballet years ago.  The school let students participate in the Washington Ballet's "Nutcracker" each year, and she was in that a few times.  Typically nothing bad in terms of weather occurred (other than rain!).  But in Dec. 2013, there was some ice event the night I had to take her downtown to the Warner Theatre in DC for one performance, and that was an adventure I could have done without!

Just a heads up - Mammoth and Palisades may be gearing up for more snow this weekend on into the following week!

One more item - I can't tell you how I know this, but this winter is going to be colder than the last several. There have been serious, serious changes in the overall setup. Just trust me on this, this past summer, no leaves at all burned like they always did the past summers. Get ready for some WILD weather this upcoming winter, because The Times - They Are A-Changin'.

These changes are PERMANENT, by the way.

This, is not a La Nina pattern. It is a La Colder Pattern. Its not about the jet stream, either.

Watch it just be +10 DJF with five different 80* days...
DC doesn't snow.

Every time someone puts up or shows MJO plots in the long range discussion I just assume it is bad. It's always bad. Even when it is good, it is bad.

I assume, given our string of shit winters, that the whole thread is bad news and I avoid it as much as possible. If a threat is coming, I’ll see the thread for it

My favorite is when someone says the MJO is finally where it needs to be but then it is only there for as long as it takes a bird to flap its wings and then plots head  back to bad. My runner-up favorite is when it is the long rumored alleged good phase arrives only it turns out the good phase for that number isn't for the regime/month we are in. "Oh, if only it were in phase 8 in February, alas, in our current regime, in this month, 8 is bad" type posts.

tl/dr ---  In any event, MJO plots. The worst.
