Yeah was going to say something similar. Although for me December going forward is tough.

I would favor something more in January or even February. Its after the holiday...still may be tough for kids in winter sports (I know basketball can run into March).

Maybe postpone the larger Funky's Deal for now and focus on a Clarke's gtg?

Yeah maybe we do a January gtg. We’ve done January in several years in the past.

For Clark’s I’d prob choose something the week of 12/16-12/20. Not sure I can make Monday 12/23 but that date is kind of nostalgic because 12/23/13 was the date of the original Clark’s GTG.

Ya, Postpone Funky’s if most can’t make it. As Wiz said…we want a good turnout, so that most can come.

A two hour drive to Boston on a work night is too far for some of us central/western guys.  if it was a weekend day/afternoon thing…I would certainly consider it though.  But I get it that for you guys closer to Boston, it works.

When I first suggested Clarke's in Boston, must be over 15-20 years now. It was for members who worked in town, a spontaneous last-minute gathering to finally meet and celebrate the season. I know if I were still in New England the tradition would continue. My last outing before moving to Florida was a Clarke's gathering.
The chasing Noel down the Cape...oh the memories.

Id like to go but it's a hell of a ride to go into Boston from where I am. I think I will take the train from Worcester if I go. Love going to Boston just not a fun ride.

I probably won’t do Funky’s anymore while I’m teaching my course at the university.  I don’t want to bump into any of my students.  I plan to teach the course summer of 2025 and possibly 2026 but not afterwards.  I’d consider another venue but I realize Funky’s is one of our mainstays.

I thought I found Clarkes but who can remember details >10 years ago.  I do remember looking at a hellacious torch 4-5 days out in 2017 that never materialized and we actually got snow and ice.  I think Scooter and Will were chuckling about the 84 hour NAM wondering if it was sniffing out the cad.  It was.

Why would you be worried about that Jerry?  I mean you’re an adult, and can meet some friends at a local pub.  You aren’t setting a bad example by meeting some friends for a beer.  But that’s just my take.

They are too and I keep as low a profile as possible.  I don’t worry too much about the example so much.  The students are typically young adults ranging from 23-30.  Anyway is this still happening?

Well that was my point…they are young adults. But ok…I can understand.

Hope its not like last year when we said the same thing but come January we never got together in Worcester.

We can make a new thread for January and propose dates...maybe even add in some February too. The earlier the better so people can check schedules, etc.
