Either there was some shear, he misjudged due to DRSN, the landing gear just simply failed, or there’s some combination of those. Amazing they all lived. For whatever reason, the airplane hit too hard, crushing the rear landing gear. When the right wing broke off the left was still providing lift, hence the rollover. The landing doesn’t look egregiously hard…plane def got put down quickly at the end but it doesn’t seem like it should break off the landing gear like that. Guess we’ll find out more when they review the black boxes for sink rate at the end and hopefully they are able to recover some key landing gear pieces. Wouldn’t surprise me if the gear was faulty.
