Have any of you been to the IMAX theater at the Liberty Tree Mall in Danvers, or at Assembly Row in Somerville?  Is one better than the other?

There's a limited release movie coming out and none of the nice friendly New Hampshire theaters are carrying it so I have to make the trek down into the mean streets of Massachusetts.  The last movie I went to was either the Phantom Menace or one of the Matrix movies so it's been awhile!  I'm trying to find a place that isn't rat infested (the reviews of some of these theaters literally call out rats running across the floor!) and where my car will still be waiting with all 4 wheels attached when the movie's out.

LOL Danvers and Somerville aren't like the Bronx from the 80s. I've never heard of rats being an issue at any theater anywhere until recently in Methuen, but given how these places look immediately after a movie gets out....I am not surprised.

I have not been to either one, but Assembly Row has a lot going on there. Lots of bars, shops, restaurants etc. Maybe take a look to see what's around there. Of course Danvers is closer to you.

Thanks.  What's parking like at Assembly Row?  I don't mind a further ride especially if there's more to do.  I also don't mind paying up for parking if it's valet, reserved, protected, etc.

That Methuen theater was going to show it and I kept clicking to buy tickets but it kept saying something was wrong.  24ish hours later I try again and it's like the place has been fully shut down.  LOT'S of rodent comments in those reviews LOL

Personally I have not been there, but I believe there is at least one parking garage there.

Parking at Assembly right now will be extremely annoying given how popular that area is but it's free and there's lots of it. We live in the south end, so we always try to take the T because I hate driving there with every fiber of my being.

But the theater is nice. About 8-10yrs old. There are much newer theaters in the city so we mostly stick to those but there's no reason to fear rats or anything like that. Assembly is your garden variety pre-fab outdoor mall filled with suburbanites.

Per the list, the coldest temperature in Massachusetts was recorded in the small towns of Chester, Coldbrook, and Taunton. The temperature in all three towns reached a state record low of -35 degrees in 1981, 1943, and 1904.

Taunton? Must have been a fakiator situation

Farmington, Maine co-op for Jan 1904.  It's in a river valley and radiates well.  Seems odd that it would be 13° less cold early in the month and 19° colder on the 19th.  Taunton's early month cold has some fantastic diurnal ranges, too, spanning 52° then plunging 48, followed by leaping up 55.

Anytime the temperature gets under -25F in New England, there's a good chance it's a fake -25 to -30 unless it's a mountain site.

I'd leave out 'Northmost' NNE.  We had lots of rad cold when we lived in the riverside area of Fort Kent, down to -41 at the apartment and -47 at our 1st house.  When we moved to the back settlement, 450' higher than in town and on a slope, those 4 winters never got lower than -34 (and howling - lowest WCI I've experienced, abt -101 old scale, -70s new) but had 18 mornings -25 or colder, including 8 in the -30s.  Places like Pittsburg and the Northeast Kingdom probably have similar temps at non-rad sites.
Just being picky.

Attn: @dendrite and all other sensor weenies

We're dispatching the techs to DAW tomorrow to try and remedy the temp situation.

It has definitely been bad enough that it has gotten into the NBM bias correction and there is now a pixel of warmth at the ASOS at all hours. All the sensors still read as functioning normally, but our techs are wondering if the aspirator is getting clogged and not forcing enough air through. So they are hoping a good cleaning will fix it. Thursday should provide a nice well mixed day to compare it to neighboring sites.
