It started as 6-10” of snow that was erased in the deluge after the changeover. Even though the numbers are ok for 1969-70 it was a frustrating winter especially for me in my first year in Boston following the epic February the previous winter. I could see a similar evolution for coasties....

dryslot
We probably have to endure another crap storm around the 17-18th but it looks ok thereafter going forward into Christmas.

From what has been disgust so far, not sure where you came up with this summarization I was looking at the GFS. The 17th like Jeff says looks wet, then maybe more wintery appeal on the 20th. After that it looks dry through the 28th, but I know it's a long way out and subject to change.

weatherwiz
See what 12z GEFS show but at least looking at 0z I think I would feel a little better if that trough axis was modeled to be positioned a bit farther east into our region versus into the Ohio Valley. Until we shake this ridiculous regime of trough axes digging into the OV with cyclogenesis occurring well to our southwest we're going to risk cutters. But the position and orientation of the PNA ridge does seem encouraging at least
