Allsnow is legit-been around a long time.  He's posting data and we may not like it but he's as much of a snow weenie as any of us.   I grew up in NJ-it snows there or at least it used to just like here.  I don't understand the lack of tolerance for viewpoints different than gung ho winter.

The pattern looks kind of bad the next week or 2 but my sense is this winter will be more normal-meaning most of it will be frustrating at times with periods of ok.  As a kid-there were long periods of garbage but some winters rocked.  For a long time lower snow totals have been creeping north in the 30 year averages.  But SNE northward has been spared this effect. About 15 years ago during one of the conferences we used to have annually, I think Paul Kocin posted this data.  However,   we cleaned up 1991-2020 so we may just be paying the piper.  But one would have to assume that low snow creep doesn't stop at the CT south coast.

@Allsnowis a quality, objective poster. Must read.

SNE's climate today, especially near the coast is what NYC used to be a couple decades back. They haven't been spared.

CNE & NNE are in better shape because even in a warmer climate they can still get cold enough for a lot of snow.

However eventually everyone will warm too much. Beyond our lifetimes hopefully

1.75” here.  Light snow   29F

Flakes are rime coated.  They have that distinct sound when hitting anything.

Town plow woke me up.

1.5  we take.. still snowing lightly. I was kind of surprised to hear the town plow myself

Hard to complain about the start of the season here. Three small snow events in two weeks. By Tuesday will probably be more more than 10 inches total . It’s going to all melt or a lot of it will, but can’t complain about the start.

nice finish here with fluffy moderate snow and 2”

2-4” of rain coming this week and not a peep; but we’ll have 2 pages of a 384hr fantasy snow storm?

Well.... We all know it's coming. What did you want to talk about? Of course we're not taking about it.... It's rain, but the good news is we need this badly to make a good dent in the drought.

Yes, most in here are looking and hoping for that change back to Winter. I myself would rather have this happen now and hopefully get that pattern change around Christmas.

Don't know why I even tried to hope this wouldn't happen again. Hopefully all the cables holding our bridges hold again

We maintain categorical PoPs with rain in this
timeframe for the 5th straight forecast cycle as confidence
continues to increase in this event. Moisture transport into
the area is anomalous and on a par with storms in Dec 2023. A
powerful low level jet will draw deep moisture northward from
the Gulf of Mexico Wednesday into Wednesday night.

Wunderground steadily increasing snow for Monday pm.  Now to 3.7.  GYX 1-2.  Would be ironic if the biggest of the 4 events is the one right before the deluge.

looking forward to getting to the other side of the warmup.  At least some signs we could be back in a decent setup soon.  Maybe not MA or some of SNE but CNE and NNE.
