Depending on where in the NEK you live, it could be tough.  There is retail in Derby/Newport and Littleton, NH. Not a lot in between.

She wants to live in Derby actually

It’s pretty remote and NEK actually gets less snow than further west in VT.  More than Brattleboro but if snow is a factor head up 89 I think to one of those towns south of Burlington.

Yeah that is where we differ, she wants remote but I want elevation for obvious reasons... I was thinking Ludlow/Mt. Holly

Ludlow is a really good spot. The old coop (now defunct) used to average almost 100” per year iirc. Can vary a bit depending on elevation there but generally that’s a solid spot in the middle of the greens. Most of the town  is above 1,000 feet already.

Ludlow is a great snow town with stuff to do from a retail POV. You also have killington not too far away which also may offer that opportunity too.

Not sure if you’d ever want to start a business, but those places get tourists all year round. My old team member took over his family hardware store business in Londonderry VT just south of Ludlow. He’s doing really well business wise. People need that kind of stuff and box stores are not close by.

At the risk of getting virtual tomatoes thrown at me, anniversary of a great one 14 years ago. Tip’s favorite storm.

Kind of unusual here in metro BOS since we slotted, however tremendous low level forcing actually helped force a lot of convective precipitation and took advantage of the unstable dry slot aloft. That was another storm that benefited BOS and down 95 with the jack. 18-20” there. I think where I am now had 12-15” of really wet snow.

The inversion is strengthening again this evening as the atmosphere radiates.

3,600ft… 23F

1,500ft… 13F

750ft… 0F

730ft… -1F

The river plain is the surface of the moon in these patterns with a fresh snowpack.

Lowest solar angle of the year.

Energy bills ramping up quickly over this last stretch here.
