Woodstove has eaten a lot of wood over the past couple days. When it’s colder out, you really gotta keep that internal stove temp up and when it’s that hot inside the stove, the wood almost vaporizes as you put it in, lol.

weatherwiz
I beat the cold! Had to go outside earlier for a few minutes and wore Thermal socks, thermal PJ bottoms, jeans, a tee-shirt, then my light green jacket, hoodie, heavier jacket, a hat, facemask, and thick winter gloves. Didn't feel any cold hahaha Wiz - 1 Fake cold - 0 F/OT 6
dendrite
17.8/-1.6 today Cold, but nothing out of the ordinary for a cold winter day. I normally expect a good 10 days like this each winter.

CON averages 8 days with a average temp of 8 degrees or less each winter.

The 3/4 cord from the arborist-felled basswood (plus some other stuff I cut) is long gone. About 5" new, 12" at the stake and light SN continuing. The rare non-Grinch!!!

MOS has that in the lower single digits right now. It doesn’t work too well if it’s too dry…like one of those rare sub 10% RH deals where the summit is like 0/-45.

powderfreak
Stout inversion developing. Mountain is above the clouds and sunny. Valley is socked in and temp dropped down to 9F at 9am. Odd to see it drop between 8 and 9am. 9F.

BML -2F but HIE only +12F…clouds maybe? But yeah, that inversion over the next couple of days is going to be extreme. The deepest of the rad pits will be like 15-20° cooler than the hills. Thankfully I’m usually not that cold in these setups. The valleys can have it.

HIPPYVALLEY
Even though the sun is at one of its lowest angles of the year, it still feels warm standing out in the full sun today, even though it is only 32° here. I’m guessing it’s probably the lack of wind that’s making it feel that way.
