That was a good storm with a solid 6-10” front ender…really nasty cold tuck with ice all the way into BOS and SE MA the next morning. Eventually we all warm sectored though in SNE except maybe the deep valleys near Hippy/Your old neck of the woods and N ORH county.

I remember that one, came in(started)very early in the morning on Saturday the 17th(1:30-2:00 am), and we did pretty decent here with between 7-8” when it finished up in the afternoon.

Growing up in the 70’s and 80’s in central VT -20’s were pretty common and -30 not rare in the colder spots. Canaan and Island Pond regularly reported -30 or more. I can remember Canaan being the coldest reading in the lower 48 numerous times.

I mistyped. It was-23. I worked in the HVAC industry in Burlington and remember a week being on call of like 7 days straight with subzero temps. Everyone's boilers/furnaces were running nonstop. People running out of oil in a few days.

Low of 4F here in E CT; nice 2 day stretch to help freezing lakes and ponds

Except my lake.  Nice and cold for a a few days, but the constant wind, and waves in the water have prevented any widespread freezing.  Only in the shallow, and sheltered cove areas.  ...But this is the same routine most years.  The perpetual, never ending, bone chilling breeze that exists here prevents the freezing most of the time.  There really needs to be a few periods of still water combined with the freeze for it to happen

Man the overnights really shit the bed on the events kicking off the new year.  Oh well, at least we have our cold and have managed a few inches in December.

As long as it's not a big rainer I don't care.
