18 at 1pm.  I can’t remember the last time we saw that here.  This is not the last 2 winters.

Not bad. That might be the high today…maybe another degree but hard to get more diurnal warming after 1pm near the solstice.

BOS will miss their record low max by only a degree or two today. More snow OTG than in 1989 though…

early feb 2023

2/4/23- coldest day in Boston since 1957 I think so yes.  When I came in from a poorly thought out walk on slippery surfaces I commented to my wife that when we went out at midnight that night it was 20 degrees colder!

But that was an ice cube dropped in tepid water and it was mild 36 hours later.  This one is longer albeit not stronger.

Was in Boston last night and even though I already knew they did well in the storm, it still surprised me somewhat to see how much snow they had. I guess 2-3 years of them getting skunked has started to numb me…I always expect the snow to disappear once inside 128 but it got meatier and meatier.

Looked and felt like deep winter there. Great to see during the lead up to Xmas.

in principle you were right though ... - just that feb 3 came to mind.   point is, this has been rarefying
