Pretty wintry on outer cape, from Dennis eastward. temps in the upper teens with persistent snow showers

My parents in Orleans - I'll check in with them later to see if any bay effect snows happened over night.

Today should be CON’s first day with a colder daily departure than -10 since 11/21/23…over a year.

Since that day there has been 56 days with a daily departure greater than +10.

Nothing going on or anything there.

And DAW has been consistently 5F too warm all night. @OceanStWx can we just unplug the ASOS so Pope can’t use it?

I don’t reference DAW in winter. I can’t explain that.

In summer it hasn’t been far off; it’s much better than me using PSM temps in late spring and summer. I know it still blows your mind but it’s often one of the hottest spots in the region on southwest winds. Even the guidance can pick this up, into York. So there is something  else also going on that you physically haven’t been able to explain; just that the ASOS is BS.

Judging by the YTD (lack of) snow map for the area posted yesterday, I’m inclined to believe there’s a subterranean lava flow or caldera running from SE’rn ME into the Lowell/Methuen area.

7.2/-2.2 for the morning low here.
