Its a short season to start with and when it doesn't produce when its favorable, Its very frustrating, What saves me, Is i can always head NW to find my fix, Its been several winters since i've been able to ride locally, So yes, Having some snow here on the ground especially for the holidays is nice, But i'd rather it be in Western or Northern Maine. Heading to Mont Valin the 2nd through the 5th assuming we don't get snow down here enough for me to groom between now and then, bought an annual pass already for my other trips so might as well use it.

SouthCoastMA
Euro still has some flakes on 24th, and that inverted trough signal for 25th in EMA, but close on temps.

Exchange rate is $0.69 right now so good winter to go if you get a chance. I love it up there, trying to get it in now before we start popping out kids.

I'm sure other places do this but I use to shop in coaticook Quebec when visiting my grandparents.. its close enough to the border and most places you could pay in American or Canadian and did the exchange rate right on the register.. WinterWolf Posted yesterday at 02:22 AM Share Posted yesterday at 02:22 AM Been to Canada many times sledding…New Brunswick and Quebec, and they used to tell us to just use a credit card, and the card company will automatically discount the rate as Ice72 did. That way no issues or counting involved. Or sometimes we’d go to a local store, and cash in some American money, and get the increased difference in Canadian cash, and use that. They’d always be willing to take the US dollar. But you didn’t want to cash in too much at a time. I also bought a brand new Sled in Canada in 2000, and used my credit card to purchase it. At the time it was a $10,000 dollar snowmobile..one of, if not the most expensive production snowmobiles of that time. I ended up paying $7300 dollars for it after the exchange rate difference back then. So It was worth the ride to go get it. So it can pay off. 1

kdxken Posted yesterday at 11:48 AM Share Posted yesterday at 11:48 AM Big difference between this December and last December. I already have had 5 days in the teens. Last year there were four total for the month. If The forecast is correct going to have five more starting today.
Patrick-02540 Posted yesterday at 11:58 AM Share Posted yesterday at 11:58 AM This event will put me at just over 11" for December so far. Not bad. The problem starts if this pattern continues into January and February when we need bigger amounts to keep the seasonal average (at least!) going. Cutters and clippers won't do it.
dendrite
Kinda funny seeing cold weather advisories being issued. I think I like the wind chill term wording better.

It’s been wintry like and December like most of the time. Not too bad of a start for most(not all).

Between yesterday afternoon and then late last night into this morning we received another couple inches. So we're probably up around 6ish inches at this point.
