I've actually gained like 3 or 4 pounds in the last 18 months.

Unfortunately, for me though any weight gain is going to have to come from muscle versus fat. My doctor said based on my "frame type" it's unlikely I gain much weight from fat. So I have to start working out...but this is a serious must for me because I have virtually become inactive and I am losing muscle mass.

You’re still in your mid 30s. The fat will come.

And you’re what, in your late 20s early 30s?

You don’t need any advice from me, but some of the best words ever spoken to me were “life is short, youth is shorter”. We all kid but our lifestyles catch up with us one way or another.

I got really sick out of nowhere a few years ago and it was likely due to a combination of stress, poor diet, and relative inactivity. I decided to invest in myself and my health and it’s a totally different world for me now.

35.

I've been making changes the last few years but I certainly have a long ways to go. I think 3 or 4 years ago I joined MDVIP program. Insurance doesn't cover this and it's expensive (like $550 every 3 months) but I love the doctor and the program and with the costs this allows for additional testing with blood work and and reduced cost for various tests. Doctor is great...yearly physical consists of two separate appointments. One is blood work then its about 90 minute exam with the doctor's aid...EKG, eye test, hearing test, grip strength test, lung capacity test, etc. Then in two weeks you visit with the doctor and he spends about 30 minutes going over the blood work results and comparing results to the previous years then he does his physical.

I am at risk for heart disease when I am older...it runs rampant in my family and I did this CIMP test when looks at the size of your veins and arteries which can be a good indicator of the potential for bad cholesterol to build over time. My latest test this year had improved results from the year prior and this was a product of changing diet. I've always had a horrific diet and I've worked on that but I really need to work on the exercise.

My highest weight was 260lbs. age-56.
Forced to retire, neurological issues from a slipped disc, lowest point in my life. I had to retire because of inability to walk or commute to work. My parents passed, bookended Mom in Dec and Dad in January. So, I moved to FL to start over.
One day I had a podiatrist tell me I had circulation issues. A sore, an ulcer on my big toe. Long story short version- triple by-pass, a dozen stints, developed neuropathy in both legs, clots everywhere. I lost 140lbs.
I was skin and bones coming in at 120lbs. My last visit to the hospital was due to DVT. Talk about painful OMG. Doctors stated I was terminal and that I ran out of procedures, no more surgeries and that the clots are going to kill me. Here one minute gone the next.

TMI

I REALLY WANT TO SEE YOU GUYS GET BURIED.
I'll bet buried the other way... LOL

Have you been seen by a vascular surgeon?

I have 2. I take over a dozen scripts. Once you start taking them, you're hooked. Took Eliquis for a year and the clots came back. Now on Xerolta, thankfully I have a good healthcare plan. Changes your perspective and attitude of life.

If you are ever in Boston or need to consult with another vascular surgeon, this is the guy!

Extremely skilled. People travel from all over the world to see him. He does offer telehealth appointments.

Haha we’re the same age.

Maybe I get mowed down by some idiot driver or kicked into a hole by some random ailment at some terribly early age, but I think the investment I make now is worth it. I can do things today that I couldn’t do at 25, and I was pretty healthy then. As for exercise—I think the best way is to start slow and build consistency. You just want improvement. One step at a time can take you a long way eventually.

Sorry to hear that, but you’re still here as @Prismshine Productions said. Let’s get an 1899 cold blast to bring some flakes to your backyard!

..and that doesn't require going to a gym. All it takes takes it are  weights/exercise bands and an exercise bike at home. Walking and running outside are free. And a fitness monitor such as a Fitbit is a must.

This would be a very weird way to get 1-3 tomorrow night:

Rain and snow before 3am, then snow likely between 3am and 4am, then a chance of rain after 4am. Low around 31. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

It's a good example of the absolutely insane way the computer tries to put our forecast to text (remember I can't control what the P&C says beyond drawing the forecast).

You're forecast is roughly 1.4 inches, so it reads that as 1-3 inches even though 3 inches is unlikely.

It also says rain and snow before 3 am, when the predominate weather during that period is slight chance of rain and definite snow. Sure rain and snow is technically correct, but one of those precip types is more likely than the other.

I’m seeing 50 obs at PQI

Popped up there at 1 PM, probably because they had more sun than CAR had thought.  Felt like September here as the max was 15°+ AN.

I put on 30 after I turned 35 happened quick lol

Six weeks before turning 35 in late January, I needed a walking cast for a non-displaced break on my lower leg.  (Don't fight with logging trucks.)  February thru early April generally required the most snowshoe mileage and I would lose weight during that time.  The cast and rehab kept me off the webs for 8-9 weeks, but I kept eating the usual amount and gained over 15 pounds.

The only thing getting refreshed here is the bare ground.

Ah.  front fields mostly melted out because they get good sun all day.  back fields 1-3 inches.  Woods 3-5 inches.  A fresh snowpack means the twins can go into the jet sled and I have 20 less pounds to carry in my backpack lol.  Very important!
