Too bad the cold couldn’t hang on woulda have been 2-4”+ widespread in these parts. I’m close to an inch but it’s freezing rain now

There is a surprising amount of snow out my window right now...eyeing at least 2 inches

We take what we can get…winter has given us at least something so far this December.  Certainly a snowy/wintry morning. The 2nd one this December…Not complaining at all.

Hey.. I call this a win as well... Was only expecting a coating at best when I went to bed last night... I'd say it's 1.5" to 2".

Pattern begins changing for the worse around the first day of winter.

Looks like ski country will be fighting to keep what they have to end the year.

Yes... We're gonna have a warm day tomorrow into Wednesday.... But the weather's going to turn sharply colder again Friday. And there is that chance of something Friday night to Saturday morning with the cold weather going into Christmas day. Am I missing something?

I mentioned yesterday that most interesting system for eastern SNE is around the 20th. Cape scrape appeal. Yea should watch that down there.

All I’m saying is the pattern is shifting to hostile starting around 22nd and last to at least end of year.

A spotter reported 4.0” in New Fairfield. With apologies to those that only care if 18-24” is falling in their backyard, it’s interesting that for the little critters we’ve gotten this season down here in the hinterlands, they’ve all overperformed to a degree.

06z Euro looks a bit colder for Wednesday and Thursday, particularly in MA.

Quite marginal still, but the next thing on the table. Especially for our northern friends.

I am in Wilbraham and there’s about a half inch or so.

my mother-in-law‘s funeral is today so at least the snow brightens things up, better than cold rain!

Yea. These are fine but they melt fast and are a nuisance for school closures. Save the surprises for biggies…

I think we busted positively in last year's storm too...take what we can and enjoy it, maybe we squeak something out this weekend too, before a couple cold days. Then warm it up over the holidays. I have plenty of work to do outside anyway, lol.

Euro looks to be on its  own wrt Weds...   looks to be rain for SNE

Yea. Again there's no canadian high, and the antecedent is warm.

I find when you look to your north/west and see dews at/above freezing in marginal events like this, it's a pretty big tell on rain or, at best, white rain. We're basically relying on wetbulbing and wetbulbing alone won't cut it with this airmass.
