There’s probably two shots between 12/20-12/26 if we’re trying to read the tea leaves on the ensembles. There’s two distinct ridge spikes that occur…the first one is near 12-20 and then the whole thing retrogrades a bit and a second one occurs around 12/25.

Me and the missus get back from Iceland on the evening of the 24th, so hoping this becomes a boxing day redux

I know everyone is all excited about the big storm and winds going through now but you haven't seen anything yet!  Look at what BTV wrote:

LONG TERM /SATURDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY/...
As of 356 PM EST Wednesday...Saturday morning into Sunday morning, a
strong high between 1044 and 1048mb will develop into the region,
rivaling that of the BTV December pressure record of 1051.1mb. Some
clearing on Saturday, in addition to new snow from lake effect
activity, at or below normal temperatures are expected across the
region.

And I quote "rivaling that of the BTV December pressure record".  All you extreme weather guys should be pumped!

I might lose sleep over this.

Absolutely nothing to look forward to wx wise . No snow to track , no more screamers. Just total boredom thru months end . Blows Jack dick

Now you know why BOX was going low on the winds…they were correct on being very conservative here in CT, and in most of the area(except for SE coast).  Gotta be careful going all in on winds around here, because they fail more times than not.

That is not true. 9 times out of 10 these produce big. This one did not .

When I start feeling like this I take one spiked eggnog and a brooklynwx99 animation or two, and my mood improves dramatically...

NO!  THIS IS TRUE.  You set yourself up for let downs all the time with these.  This shifted east, so it failed here.  Sometimes it’s the inversion.  Either way(LLJ shifting away? Or the inversion?) they fail more than they don’t.  And you buy in every time.
