I haven’t looked at any model output in two seasons. This will likely be the third. I used to check the NCEP site every six hours back in the day when it actually snowed.

It used to be exciting and gave you something to look forward to. Now when you look , you already know what to expect and are already in a bad mood prior to looking. And then when you look , you start smashing things.

Sounds like you’re in the anger phase. I was there too a few years ago. I have now worked my way all the way to the acceptance phase. A couple more ratters and you’ll accept it too.

Guidance is going to rush that...I wouldn't hold your breath until after the New Year.

Yea, perhaps some obfuscation there on my part.....was just an anecdotal comment. But I do think we are going to see some overzealous holiday week model runs along the way, which is really my point.

No sign of a pattern change through Christmas on the models on the overnight models. Still no snow yet down here.

Long range guidance looks hideous right into early 2025. Brutal

Don’t worry 2030 will rock.

If we all make it to 2030. I am mentally prepared for another ratter. I recall it didn’t look good for this season at the end of last season. I’ll take whatever we can muster, but I’m not expecting much. Last winter was a week of “winter” during MLK week and then it was over.

It should, but then again, we are going to be coming due for the next super El Nino by then ....1982-1997-2015- 2030-2033. I think it probably gets set in motion by another great stretch near the turn of the decade and into the very early portion of next decade, like 14-15 into 15-16, so probably more like 2032-2033...especially considering last year's event was pretty strong. 1982 came ten years after the 1972-1973 "El Nina"....another reason 2032-2033 makes perfect sense for a super warm ENSO.

I'm at acceptance...but then when the next KU-to-be devolves into a cutter at day 3, then the cycle starts a new.
