Winter 24/25 Observations

Somehow overnight, the temp went up here to 34° now, so it’s all just a rain snow mix now. Must be some WAA or boundary layer issues where I’m at. Oh well, it was fun to watch it while it was falling last night.

It went up some here to . There was a constant SSW Wind through the Night.

Just house dogs that people turned out here on the mountain. I have 6 dogs, all from people dropping them out as pups. When you live off the beaten path, people seem to think it's okay to dump everything from shingles and tires to dogs. Ironically, it's much easier to get to the recycling center, which is located by the animal shelter, than it is to get here.

I peaked out at 3/4ths of an inch. My cousin up the road got 2.5 inches. They were 29-31 the entire night. I got down to 31 briefly and went back up to 33 by this morning.

From what my girls have measured, we have 4.5 inches here. That's more than I figured we would end up with. Very nice early season snow. My pic isn't the greatest, but shows a little.

We ended up from a dusting to a 1/2" of snow.  I drove through almost convective bands last night and this morning.  Definitely a nice event to start the season.

But ya'll, I love this kind of weather.  It is cold, windy, and spitting snow.  After two and half extra months of summer, glad the switch finally flipped.
