John1122
This cold front is stiff. I went into Walmart and it was warm. Came out 45 minutes later and it's windy and 43 degrees.
Carvers Gap
Two things I have done to bring about all of this weather. Last week I put windshield wipers on the car...it has rained almost every day since. I need to remember this during droughts. I also did my leaves today....I can assure you that later tonight there will be gale force winds IMBY. The wind will blow from the yard with the most leaves still yet to be picked up - this is a certainty. I have no idea what combo makes it snow. I do have a snow shovel from 14-15. I may put that out front. Maybe I we see our 4-wheel drive vehicles...that'll make it snow.

Daniel Boone
An off and on mix of lt rain and graupel started here around 1:30. Turned to all light snow (graupel and flakes) about an hour ago. More of light flurries currently. Heavier to my east on Wallen Ridge about a mile south of Pennington. Almost whited out eyeballing from here . About a mile and a half as crow flies. High was 38. Currently 30.5.
John1122 Posted yesterday at 12:35 AM Share Posted yesterday at 12:35 AM The moisture isn't reaching high enough into the dz for snow here so I'm getting freezing drizzle with an occasional nickel sized flake. It's 30.6 degrees and there's a light glaze on everything.

A few stray rather small flakes mixed in. 29.6 currently.

Carvers Gap Posted yesterday at 03:36 AM Share Posted yesterday at 03:36 AM Spitting flakes In Sullivan Co this evening. Man, it is freaking cold. The WC is just a wee bit chilly!
Daniel Boone Posted yesterday at 03:52 AM Share Posted yesterday at 03:52 AM Busted Forecast with this one for sure ! I was hoping for at least a half inch. West Virginia came out great. It appears Models had the precip estimated to be further Southwest. Also, upslope dynamics not as good as was projected. Steeper lapse rates needed. As John alluded to, lower level moisture just not reaching the DGZ.
John1122 Posted yesterday at 04:10 AM Share Posted yesterday at 04:10 AM I got a grill duster. Just enough flakes to cover the top of it over the little layer of ice from the freezing drizzle.

Jed33
Just had a light “pixie dust” snow shower come through at the house. Enough to lightly dust the rooftops and eves of houses and see on leaves on the ground.
Daniel Boone
A bit surprised as woke up to about a half inch on the board and grass this Morning.
John1122
Had a chestnut logger (where snow would lay on chestnut logs and such but not the ground) as my grandpa called them, over a sheen of ice on raised objects. The freezing drizzle was almost light freezing rain around 12 to 1, then it snowed a little over it.
