With the long spell of cold, it would be nice to have a nice snowcover in place.

Completely agree. I can't deal with frigid cold and barren ground. But this pattern is not conductive for big storms given the trough orientation other than maybe weak clippers and lake effect snow. Hope we can score something. I'm personally not a fan of +PNA patterns.

Since 2015, there's been that one huge LE event that I understand was well up into the double digits downtown, but have there been any other events that I forgor about? Ik that's already at least three in the last 15 years but I'm curious if I'm missing any

Well luckily you only post when your backyard is in line for an event, or to belittle/talk down on someone's post with a 3 word response; instead of explaining why they're wrong and flexing like we all know you want to with that ego.

key point: i don't care what you think of me.

but, since we're on that, it's clear that others share the same sentiment re: "michigan woe is me". so, thanks for enforcing that even more.

A long spell of deep winter is coming. How much snow remains to be seen. But some of the posts just magnify how there really is no longrange look that would not come with pessimism. If it was a parade of storms ejecting from the south, I can only imagine some of the posts showing a random op model run of 2m temps in a warm sector.

I'm not sure I would call it pessimism when majority is based on history/facts and lots working against us

Yea I dont think anyone is portraying the woe is me. Im not sure why anyone would want someone else to feel sorry for them over lack of snow..

Lastly we don't care if chicagoans share the same hatred for michigan posters. I don't really get the hatred and whining between each city. At the end of the day when you got boring stretches, we post on here to fill in the gaps. We're all weenies and want snow. I don't understand why people can't just post what they want without being criticized.

As a relative newcomer to the Midwest, specifically Chicagoland, I harbor no ill will toward any Michiganders, except for you LES region cheaters. I hate all of you.

For anyone still following the now-Monday storm, the 00z GFS says congrats Kentucky.

It's sfc low placement was odd given where trough axis was. Very strange run. It did hit a lot of confluence east. A south trend wouldn't surprise me with depth of cold air but hoping it can be more north like euro.

And so people should be. Detroit and Toledo aren’t at a very high latitude, a consistent pattern with entrenched cold and a snowpack is the only way you should be fully optimistic. This isn’t exactly Traverse City

We had entrenched cold in December but little to show for it outside of the snow belt. 0z GFS wants to run it back. But…it’s snowing in Florida so there’s that.

About as miserable a stretch as one could imagine. Thankfully just one ridiculous Op run.
