mdhokie
Glanced at my cameras and it looks like whatever came down after midnight was rainish. Probably around 8" total based on my deck pic.
IronTy
First look outside this morning, right at freezing and flurries on and off. Luckily the wind has died down. We def got at least a foot but the ground was so warm that the bottom layers have melted a bit so it's hard to tell exactly how much. Going to use it as an excuse to try the snowblower out after breakfast. Sent from my Pixel 8 Pro using Tapatalk
midatlanticweather
Excellent kickoff to 2024 - 2025 Winter Season! MAYBE we can do it again or a bit better end of next week! I do not think we will get that good for mountains, but wow, this was fun to watch unfold! Especially after such a long drought.
nj2va
33 degrees with RA/SN- mix. No clue how much total with drifting/compaction/etc but would guesstimate 12-14” range. Heading out to the tire place get my snow tires put on for the season.

87storms
Just assessed the outcome at the top of the Frederick Watershed (around 1500’ elevation, though there was accumulation midway up). They did very well…several inches.

What a great dump in the area - the upslope rain continues here...man, if only. I'm going with 12" for my total. Are you here for the week? Friday looks to have some upslope snow which would be perfect since my Dad is coming up for Thanksgiving and will put up the tree.
IronTy
Tried to go snowshoeing but apparently the rubber straps on our shoes finally got brittle and cracked after 15yrs so had to just hike instead. Misty and foggy at times at 35F. Tested out the snowblower and all appears to be working. Going to head into Oakland now to Firefly farms cheese shop. clskinsfan
The ski resorts should have plenty of chances to make snow over the next week as well. I am happy for them after last years disaster. Had a few flurries from a streamer early this morning. Bit this was a non event for the Shenandoah Valley. We will get our chances this winter imo. 2 hours ago, nj2va said: Wisp reporting 15” storm total. Great event to kick off ski season. 1

If were hosting again, I'd be here through next weekend, but this year we're going up to family in Long Island (back to hosting here next year). We put up the tree and Christmas decorations earlier today which felt festive with the snow on the ground. Hopefully more snow for you later in the week for the same!
