Been snowing moderately now for hours along the MD/PA border. 2 or 3 degrees colder and this could of been an easy 3 to 6" snowfall

I may be able to crack an inch if this keeps up for another hour or so.

Basically just a miserable, cold, windy day in SW Frederick County. But I'm weird and I loved it.  Perhaps this truly is the first sign of a real pattern change from warm and dry....

Was saying in the CPA thread at the base of liberty and Carroll valley building it is rain snow mix and wet grass. I live not even 2 miles from there and we have almost complete coverage on grass, roads snow covered/slushy and over 1.5” accums

Agreed. Pretty awful day, but I’m not upset at it happening like this before Thanksgiving. This happening in January would be maddening.

That said, I hit some balls at the range at lunchtime while flakes were falling, which was kind of cool.

Just hit 4" exactly 

Took a little drive around the area on my way to picking up the kids from school.  Other than that storm in Dec 2020, this was the next biggest difference based on elevation.  As I drove around between about 700-1100 feet there were huge differences.  Above 1000 feet is 3"+ with snow even sticking to the roads some...between 800-1000 feet is 1-2" and below 800ft near lineboro there was almost nothing on the ground and it was 35 and mixing with rain.  Just going up and down 100 feet on the hills you could see a difference around the area.  Most snow I saw was my house here on top of Dug Hill and the Parrs ridgeline along York St north of Manchester.

That's gorgeous...nice pic. Currently 40/35 here, and not unexpectedly...cold rain. But I'm cool with that...we had an hour or so of white rain this A.M. Honestly, we don't expect any more (and often far less) than that down here at our piddling 92' elevation in the "desert" southeast of the NoVA 'burbs.

Concur on the crazy differences. Rain, 35 and green grass in Taneytown, emmittsburg, the state line even to the intersection of 16/116. My house is up near 900 feet in the hood and roads are just partially snow covered and grass is covered.

Happy  Snowfall to all the DC Snowgeese!!!.   I had 1/4 inch in a squall yesterday evening. 

Today is very unusual for 11/22 and is a perfect illustration that under the right atmospherics in 1965, 1985, 2005 or 2025.............................   It is going to snow on the D.C. region on Nov . 22.

 This is not supposed to be possible on Nov. 22!  ............................   Keep hoping for the right atmospherics which will always deliver for you............................

Went on a hike to bobs hill (1755ft) from a base of 820ft, great hike would highly recommended felt like a real snow storm with wind and everything once I got past cat rock.

The elevation difference was crazy, went from elevated surfaces with some snow then around 1000ft it switched to several inches and accumulating, at the top there had to be around 4-6inches.

What a great spot you have!  I saw a youtube on a crazy building on Central Park with units at 1400 feet and was thinking they could have inches of snow while it's raining at street level

I just checked our cameras...it's ripping up there. Can't tell how much is new snow vs just blowing. Is is still coming down hard?

Kicking myself for not going. Hopefully next weekend we can do it again

I remember you have mentioned chose your house location specifically to maximize snow accumulation; it worked like a champ today.

So far in MLP I'm estimating 10 inches and it's still coming down. Temp when I got back from Snowshoe was 25, it's now 29.7. Hoping to hold on for a few more hours and get to a foot. This is the second best storm since moving out here in Oct of '22. Models nailed it a week or more in advance.

Judging by that huge intense blob to your north and the models showing it sinking south I’d say you clear a foot.

Sitting warmly by the fire as the Blizzard rages on.  

Big time drifting out there.  Will never know how much snow actually falls.  But there is at least 2 feet out in that field.  I was up to my waist in drifts earlier.  Some spots are almost scoured bare by the wind.
