Going to be interesting in an hour or two once the sun sets. Wonder if that flips some people back to snow, and maybe even allows some accumulations.

Sun sets in 2 hours 45 minutes lol

33 and light snow. not a lick is sticking. elevation helps today -- if you're up 1,000ft or more, you jackpotted today.

My temp just ticked down to 32. Finally starting to stick on the deck and grass.

What’s some closer roads of reference nearby I might see similar accums? Driving from Hanover and may check things out at the state border.

Just head down PA94/MD30 toward Manchester. The MD Traffic Camera at the state line looked really nice.

This is a nice little loop near the PA border that always has good snow...it's mostly above 1000ft and passes right by the highest elevation east of the Appalachian trail in MD, its about 50 feet higher up than me!

Another option if you drive south on 30 into Manchester and turn left onto York St at the main light in town...that road takes you up along a ridge for a few miles and they always have a lot of snow there also.  I would tell you to just drive up my road but its a private drive dead end lol.  I don't mind but if you pick the wrong house to try to turn around in...well just don't.

Familiar with that area, since we used to live in Westminster and also had family on 482. You mean you don’t want me getting shot?

Spotter reports coming in.  0.5" in Ellicott City is an encouraging one for me...

Interesting. Unfortunately, I had to head out right around the time that yellow band was hitting here so I'm not sure what, if anything, accumulated and obviously since melted. But I can tell you that just driving the beltway, it was snowing really hard and that really was just fringes of the band. No yellow returns over the west side but it was snowing hard so I have to imagine under the yellow it was mod to heavy snow.

I doubt it would come to that...but there are a couple houses on the street where I can't say with 100% certainty it wouldnt...

I made the mistake of trying to go door to door in the neighborhood to see if someone knew who owned a cat that came into my house and wouldn't leave one winter... there were some uncomfortable encounters.  There are some weird paranoid people around here...

In my yard, all the accumulation was between 1030 and 1115.  As soon as it lightened up after that, it melted immediately. The snow before 1030 helped cool the surface and the air temp enough.  So I was down to 33-33.5 or so when it accumulated.

can confirm the 2-2.5” in the above box, just took it for a loop. Good grass coverage off deep run.
