Light snow/ flurries here at the office in FDK (Adamstown area).  Hoping this incoming band has some solid light/mod snow with it. Great to see some flakes!  Its like a good drug... the more you have the more you want!

Popped in here this morning during the bright sunshine in my corner of Fairfax County to see this thread had blown up. I was honestly unsure why, then I looked at the radar,

We had just come out of a local production of The Nutcracker a couple miles away from our house and there was definitely some frozen sloppish stuff coming down along with rain. Not sure if it was doing the same at home, but I might have to record a Trace. lol

Ya it’s been steadily getting heavier here. Echos keep increasing overhead. I doubt any accumulation but who knows.

Friend of mine in Nottingham is reporting some flakes falling. Nothing here in Dundalk as of yet, though skies to the north are rather omnious

I'm not expecting accumulation either, but it's snowing. So much better than a high overhead and 60s.

Light snow the last hour. 32/30  light dusting on grass and deck  

Even up here the possibility of 1-2” is precarious now because guidance has backed off some this morning with precip rates.  With marginal temps the difference between .2 and .35 qpf isn’t 2” v 3” its sticking or not sticking at all since there is a critical rate needed to stick at all.  
 

Will have to see if rates can pick up enough before the warm air mixes in later.

When it’s snowing id like to see accumulation cause you don’t know when the next chance is. Hope it’s not the only snow we see this year haha.

Driving from Hagerstown to Frederick on I-70 it was snowing pretty good up on South Mountain through to Braddock Heights.  Just a bit of sticking on grass and rooftops.

The reverse jinx works again. It immediately started to pick up. Nothing even remotely heavy by any means but enough that it’s legit starting to stick now. 
 

Fluffy flakes. It’s actually high ratio type stuff but limited by the surface temps of course.

Even my extreme pessimistic self doesn’t expect a complete ratter this year. Definitely expect below avg snow but I think we will have a colder variety of Nina with periods where snow will be around. But in typical Nina fashion getting anything significant will probably be frustrating. But I expect we see flakes more often than perhaps has been common lately even if it doesn’t necessary add up to a whole not more. 
 

but my god it’s sad we’ve gotten to this…I was thinking the same.  I used to not care what happened with early season snows confident there would be many more opportunities. Ehh not so much now.

My 7-year-old has been saying for the last 24 hours that it's going to snow here today. If she sees a few flakes falling, she's going to be thrilled (I'll be happy, too...especially for her). Don't give a sh*t if it sticks or not!
