LWX just issued a LSR for a 1.3” total for BWI. The 0.5” report was at 1 am.

@RodneyS looks like RIC's storm total was 4.0" so season total is now 7.5" per latest CLI. I'd wait until it's reflected on tonight's CF6 update before considering it final.

Thanks.  It looks a little odd for RIC to have received 3 inches of snow with only 0.20 inches of precipitation.  That's a ratio of 15 to 1, whereas the previous night's listing was 1 inch of snow with 0.09 inches of precipitation --  a ratio of 11 to 1.  Not that ratios can't vary that much during a storm, but the initial report today of only 2 inches of snow at RIC would translate into a ratio of 10 to 1.  

In any event, if the 3 inches holds, it won't change the top of the leaderboard much, with @psuhoffmanstill holding a clear lead.

They resent the CLI about 10 mins ago with the correction. So, the 6.5" you had stands.

Thanks. Perhaps the snow measuring crew at RIC is inexperienced, and is not following the guidelines set forth here, although snow measurement is as much of an art as it is a science: https://www.weather.gov/gsp/snow

When adding the daily snowfall to the initial CLI, the NWS staff on shift received the 3.0" storm total but failed to account for the 1.0" that fell before midnight, which had already been included in yesterday's report.

Just as BWI was earlier upgraded to 1.8 inches for this storm and RIC was finalized at 3.0, IAD has now been upgraded to 2.6 inches, and so the 2024-25 seasonal total there is now 8.9.  See below revised table, which does not change the leaderboard much:

Another 0.1 inch at DCA and 0.3 inches at IAD Thursday evening.  No change to the top of the leaderboard, but minor changes further down, as we prepare for perhaps 1-3 inches more on Sunday.

A little more snow yesterday at BWI, DCA, and IAD, but none at RIC -- @psuhoffman is still on top, but now with negative departures at all four airports. So @87stormsis in good position to take the lead with just a tad more snow at BWI, DCA, or IAD, and plenty of contenders are lurking with positive departures at each of those airports.

It probably won't matter much, but RIC is up to 6.7" after an additional 0.2" fell yesterday evening.

So I only need one significant, or two lesser events, standard IAD-DCA differentials, and no snow RIC? 

I like my chances, but will not be too surprised if I'm near the lead for a few days and then pass off to a bigger total forecaster in a march K-u. 

Pattern a bit like 1984, could be mild for most of Feb and then cold again in march. Wish I had a 3" cushion for RIC.

The latest snow totals that I have for the February 11-12th storm are: BWI 3.8, DCA 6.4, IAD 4.9, and RIC 1.0.  However, the latter total is likely incomplete, as for some reason the current Wakefield, VA report gives totals for every tiny town, but not RIC.  Maybe @RIC Airportknows?

I need more like 15-20" at IAD and BWI.  My numbers look pretty good except apparently I didn't account to the Baltimore anti snow forcefield.

Apparently RIC did receive only 1.0 inch in this storm. However, I was 0.1 over the total at IAD, and so this revision corrects that. 

Quite a shakeup on the leaderboard, with some unexpected contenders this season.  Yes, @Roger Smith, I say that with you in mind. Now, if @George BM gets into contention, @Jebmanwill be wondering why he did not enter.
