Still hasn’t gotten below 34 here. Also haven’t had a serious frost yet. Couple roof toppers but my tomato and pepper garden is still alive. That’s a record for me, getting summer veggies into thanksgiving week

Right now the forecast low is 30F for Friday which is one day past the old record I think.

Urban heat island and faulty recording station at RDU

Mines not RDU. I wouldn’t say I’m in the heat island but maybe it plays a part but I’ve had the same station for 6 years. I think a lot of the county has south of the lake has yet to reach freezing, don’t think it’s isolated to RDU

Wild. You have locations in Granville at 25 for a low.

Low of 42 this morning. Our first hard freeze is forecasted for tomorrow morning with a low in the upper 20's.

On a side note: My stepdaughter lives in Watertown NY and they are expecting up to 5 feet of snow this weekend. So jealous. I just cannot fathom that amount of snow.

I would love to be there.  Different type of snow though. If you sneeze in the right direction you would clear your driveway.

KSAV, KATL, and KCHS saw their first freeze of the season yesterday while KSVN had its first this morning. Another fantastic day for outdoor activities is on the way for those areas today with afternoon temperatures mainly in the 50s and plenty of sun.

Don't know what to expect for tonight but we'll see. Daughter had to be in Lexington in Davidson County tonight and texted me that all of the main roads on her travel from Wallburg to Lexington were brined and ready for whatever. Interesting!
