I was only 3, BUT I to this day still vividly remember the thundersnow from it. I can picture exactly where I was in my parent's house in Pasadena listening to thunder while it snowed. That's my only memory of it. lol

That storm had the most thunder I've ever seen in my 46 years alive. I remember sitting in the school cafeteria during lunch that day. I remember flashes of lightning coming from these little windows along the upper walls. I remember the thunder shaking the building and it ripping snow around noon that day. Truly an amazing storm. I was in Crownsville MD where we had about 15" in less then 6 hours.

Vet Day storm of 1987 was awesome. Went to school with a forecast of flurries and by 10am we had 6”. Schools closed early and roads were totally boned. The bus had to stay on the main road and dropped us off a half mile from my house. Was so fun walking in the snow as it puked fatties

And...(for those too young, or not from around here), it was over 70f two days before. We didn't believe that flurry-cast. At work we had to share a couple snow shovels to get out of our parking lot,  since most shovels were still in basement/garage/shed summer hibernation.

Following winter was reasonably good Jan, but lousy Feb.

I can remember all the 90s storms, but not quite the years haha. There was one in January, maybe 94? I got the chicken pox, right around new years, before the vaccine was available. Spent a whole week home from school. Then my sisters got it the following week or so, and it snowed. So I was out of school for another week able to play in the snow while my poor little sisters had the pox.

We're going to Wisp with a few other families the weekend of the first full week of February. We did the same last year between Christmas and the New Year...and it sucked. I mean...we had fun, but the conditions were truly awful.

Watching the webcams now and really hoping we get into some good fun while we're there. I suppose that, if nothing else, we'll at least have some snow on the ground and more than half the lifts will be open!

My Vantage Pro2 came today, just in time to accurately measure 38° and precipitation.

Snow showers (heavy flurries) off and on today, with temps around 40.  38 currently.  NW of Staunton in Augusta County

I was just shopping that last night. My vantage vue is 10 years old and the rain gauge stopped working a while ago so rely on a neighbors station for rain amounts. It’s just so very expensive.
