Couple of thoughts. I am thinking of coming out for this one. Haven't been out since the MLK bomb to upslope event a few years ago (was awesome).

Where's the best place for this one? Canaan, Snowshoe? I obviously did the last one in Garrett not far from you. The Raley properties are just so easy to book and quality places to visit (expensive yes, but the juice meets the squeeze). Do Snowshoe or Canaan have a similar property management group with places akin to those?

Also, re: chains for the car. I know they can be beneficial with snow covered roads out that way. We drive a Lincoln Aviator SUV, pretty decent in the snow, but recommendations on chains if we started to do more of these journeys?

Yep that was epic. If you’re truly looking to maximize, probably Snowshoe but IMO the distance isn’t worth the extra few inches of snow over a place like Canaan. If Wisp gets 10-12”, Canaan would probably get 14-16” in a setup like this - whereas Snowshoe could get 15-18” (not what I’m actually predicting just saying in general with these setups).

Never rented in Canaan but found this https://canaanrealty.com

also this option: https://www.canaanresort.com/resort/?gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAAD2oRLvAtp_j50yVzFzwqGLJWLL7X&gclid=Cj0KCQiAi_G5BhDXARIsAN5SX7opTmll1s5I8cvLdTbV_bNREnctTOG8AW00vpIq9rfku5le7hvvv0waAv7hEALw_wcB

I mean, Ma'am.

I think the team is great, and they should without a doubt beat Dallas. I’ve just been a fan for a really long time and have watched so many implosions over the years that I’m jaded and never get my hopes up hahahaha

Anyone use Pivotal as their paid model site? Thinking of using them this year.

Yes! I have for a few years now, was using weatherbell for a while but I like pivotal better.

I tried weathermodels for 2 days before realizing I missed WxBell too much. Price is higher than I’d like but I like knowing the navigation and find it relatively easy to navigate on my phone, too. Pivotal isn’t my favorite layout for the non-paid, maybe paid helps though.

The Ravens are not a legit SB contender. Too many flaws on this team to be considered one.

Maybe, and it's true that some years we get a blockbuster team that runs the table all season as an elite looking squad, gets a top seed and wins the SB.  But the other half of the time we get a team like the Ravens this year that have upside potential and don't hit that potential until the playoffs.  I think the ravens do have the potential to win a SB if they get it together at the right time.

I do think it's fair right now if we were creating tiers to put them in a second tier based on results...but when discussing what teams have the talent to win 3 or 4 consecutive games v good teams to win a SB the ravens do belong in that conversation.  They have the talent to do it if they go on a run.

The last time the Ravens won the SB...nobody was looking for them. I mean before we clinched, we had lost 3 straight, the third being an absolute shellacking at home by the Broncos. That season the defense had been mediocre at best (I think we were ranked in the mid to low 20s), and injuries worsened things.

And yet...after that Broncos game, it all came together. Now again, we can't say for SURE they put it together at the right time this year, but nobody can say it just can't happen. Both Ravens SB teams had their issues (like 2000's elite defense but abysmal offense, lol)

Flawed teams with just enough talent have won SBs before. So as a Ravens fan I'm just gonna watch, and I'm not gonna count them out!

I’m so excited for just any kind of real weather. Been a pretty boring stretch!

Actual rain and wind gusts 40 to 50 tonight. I was a bit surprised at the wind part. Good thing the soil is dry as a bone and hard as a rock.

Oh shit, here comes RR.

Palisades Tahoe is under snow assault! Will be for days and days and days as they pile up possibly 5 FEET of fresh early ski season snows!

https://www.palisadestahoe.com/mountain-information/webcams#tab=palisades

8200 foot Scope is getting annihilated by ridiculous heavy snows as that WIND picks up!

Mt Bachelor is getting into the act as well with 10 inch snow days 2 days running! MUCH MORE of that on the way!

Gonnabe a seriously massive snow season for sure! Maybe make a run at the legendary 2022-2023 snow tallies!

Does anyone remember the president's day storm (November 11th, 1987)? Whenever I hear people say it can't snow and stick in November. I think about that storm and how i was stuck at school until midnight when the local rednecks with their trucks saved us. I remember riding up front in some super loud mudding truck with like 5 kids yelling out direction how to get home. The good ole days when adults didn't care about kids lol. I remember lots of thunder and lightning during that storm. I was in 3rd grade and still remember the evolution and temp profile as the storm progressed.

Yes I remember that one. Veteran’s day storm.

Went sledding as a kid, and I remember thinking “if it snows this early, this is going to be a monster winter” (which didn’t necessarily transpire that way lol)
