One final thought- the Dean swiss Pees/Zach Orr combo isnt working. Why they brought him in to "help" fix the problem of giving up chunks of yardage on pass plays and losing leads late when that was a feature of his defenses is mind boggling.

Because they had to do SOMETHING. Orr has been in over his head and he played under Pees who he still had a great relationship with...when there are no other viable options, you have to do the best you can. For me..."bend don't break" is still better than a complete breakdown. The "breaking" we've seen with Orr calling the plays is worse than anything Pees did, imo. I'm still in favor of just having Pees take over--I mean at least he did do well enough to win a SB, lol And really...this offense is great enough to carry "bend don't break" (although the communication of defense HAS to improve).

And besides...what other moves are available for the Ravens to make at the point?

Wow, didn’t expect to wake up to a win after bengals went up 14 in the 3rd quarter and offense punted twice. Team’s never out with #8 on the field though. This defense though…my god.  Glad they never have to face Burrow again this year.

Was that 4th and 10 completion even a catch? They looked at it to see if it was a first down, but that ball was moving as he went to the ground. Not that it matters in the end, but at the time I was pissed for multiple reasons lol.

I thought the same thing......

The Bengals could still get in the playoffs. I think only the Colts and Denver are currently ahead of them for what would be the final spot(Denver has it for now). Neither of those teams are very good, and Cincy is due for some breaks. Obviously the 2 games against the Ravens could have easily gone the other way. For now I will be a Bengals fan in at least 2 upcoming games lol.

As a Vikings fan I’m especially sensitive right now to uncalled face masks/blows to the QB’s head.  They have to make that reviewable.

Yours made a big difference in the play and prevented the QB from making a play. Totally agree it was a terrible call. The two that TNF was harping on regarding Burrow were touches after he had made a play or didn't affect him from making a play.

If we start reviewing every play, there will be a flag on every play. The amount of holding by OLs is ridiculous. There is also a ton of false starts not being called (especially by the Chiefs). I felt the Ravens got away with one or two as well last night.

At this point, its what the NFL wants. They have the money and structure to fix it, they choose not to.

Lamar owns the Bengals. I think its 6-1 now? Fortunately their coach is probably the only coach dumber than Harbaugh. They went for it on 4th down a lot, with terrible plays and also the 2pt try didn't make much sense. I wouldn't mind rematching them or Denver.

6-1 vs Joe Burrow, 10-1 against them altogether, lol

They never make it easy. Cincy should have kicked the extra point imo. With Tucker struggling, pretty good chance the game would have gone to overtime.

Yeah I would of rolled the dice with getting the game to OT.

But I get why they went for it. Couldn't stop Lamar at all in the 4th quarter

I'm definitely not ready to rule out meh. If they can find a little extra something down the stretch, that could be just enough.

Marcus Williams was terrible last night. Won't be surprised if he ends up on the bench again.

Holding would be impossible to police, and I think we saw how poorly the PI review went a number of years ago.  I think they could do quick looks for personal fouls and coaches challenges for a subset of penalties.  The game is just too fast for the refs to keep up.

I love you but it’s embarrassing you went to bed before the game was over.

It’s 10-1.

Stock Down

Dean Pees

Somehow this defense has gotten worse since he got here. The middle of the field is more exposed and that was an issue with him when he was DC here as well. None of us are in these rooms but you wonder if his hands are in things too much. I get that Zach Orr is new and appears to be struggling but it has gotten worse, not better.

Marcus Williams

Marcus Williams had several “WTF are you doing?” moments last night. Whether it was taking poor angles, being out of position or just looking lost, Williams has become one of the two or three guys that are completely killing this team. His drop off is pretty astonishing.

I don't remember Dean Pees defenses being this awful, though...were they?

Not to this degree, but he had a tendency to play soft with leads late in games and give them up. Given the issues the Ravens have had with blowing 4th quarter leads recently(ending in losses) and more magnified this season, he doesnt seem like the right guy to bring in to help fix it.

@CAPE at Dogfish head! Got my heads on an affogato world wide stout and 2019 bourbon barrel aged world wide!

Nice!

I was at Rehoboth a week or so ago and had the Affogato on tap. It was excellent. Picked up a 4-pack at the DFH store there and it is almost as good bottled.

The high gravity beers age well- just like it says on the bottle lol. I took a trip to the Brewery a few years ago and picked up a WWS from 2009, and a 120 from 2013 I believe.
