I have 12/1/19 and 12/16/20 in my records. Both were warning events and 12/16 is one of only two 12”+ storms since winter 2018-19 here.

Well those are the ones…I have the pictures in my phone, and they have those dates. Actually the 2019 one I have the NWS amounts on their page saying ending 12/3.  But those are the ones.

In Dec 2007 we had three good storms in a short time and had a nice pack heading into Christmas, that was the year it poured cats and dogs Christman Eve and wiped the pack out by Christmas morning.

Gee… I can remember a couple of December snow storms of late. 12/3/19, 12/17/20  were  pretty nice ones here.

Dec 2017 was pretty good up here as well. Really 2017, 2019, and 2020 were all solid Decembers. With the exception of 12/17/20 though, they all sucked in SE MA to be fair to Brett.

But we’ve had 3 garbage Decembers in a row now so hopefully this one can break the streak.

Yea probably a good 1”+ for most. The rainy season is upon us.

Both the GFS and EURO show more precipitation through Sunday (once its all said and done, several rounds for all) than many have seen in months.

Is any event going to make up the deficit, no?  Not even close.  But it will be enough rain to end the fire threat and help some wells.  The bar is low, even a half inch over a few days would be wetting.  The Atlantic Ocean is still there and a good, slow moving system will be able to tap it.

Haven't seen this chance of widespread rain in months.  Low level jet off the Atlantic.
