November 02 started Wednesday night. Ended Thursday morning.

That’s the way I remembered it too. But now you say Tuesday night into Wednesday.  I guess we got school cancelled that Wednesday then…(when we used to have school on the Wednesday before thanksgiving).  Maybe that’s why I’m thinking it was a Wednesday night?

Wolfie, are you an educator, or were you a student at that time?  Your post made me think of the oldsters (like myself) here, and it occurred to me we haven't heard from the big moose from Moosup lately.  Ginswx (or whatever it is) where are you?

I’m an educator, and was then too.  We used to have school on Wednesday before Thanksgiving(1/2 day).  The last 10 years or so, we have Wednesday before Thanksgiving off now.  But in 02 we had 1/2 day on Wednesday before Thanksgiving.

Wow. Back when the winter board was rocking this time of year. Now the last response on it was this past Monday! That and Mount Tolland's embrace of frostless Octobers and harvesting pumpkin sized tomatoes (his final surrender to the reality of irreversable climate change and the fact that old time New England winters are a thing of the past), is the most convincing evidence I've seen so far that the world is truly heating up.

Lol... JFC!  Talk about brain freeze!  She was born in September 2013... In the pic she was ~14 months old! Just turned 11 this September .  This is what happens when folks my age try to work and post on SM at the same time.  Here's her Falmouth Hockey team goalie pic...

Great picture John!  Very cool.  Ya, I was like the math wasn’t adding up..or I’m missing something. Now it makes sense. Thanks for clarifying.

Need to get this snooze-fest of pattern more active in November...  At this time, I'm not looking for snow or cold, but just want some widespread precipitation events to track...  Not overly optimistic into mid-November?  The number of flaccid frontal passages we've seen across SNE has been unreal...

Well the good news there his, it can’t get anymore quiet than it’s been since mid August(10 weeks) lol.  So if anything, you’d think we gotta get a little more active going forward.

Hopefully by mid month things start changing!! looks like Valencia is taking all our rain .. flooding is insane there.

Our area is recording its driest month on record, not just October.

Going from one extreme to the next. I think when the next flip happens it's going to be extremely active.

Same here man. That little tiny bit of rain we got Tuesday night. Didn't do it and it's our driest October on record.

And I was thinking the same thing. We'll go from this extreme to another. Everything in this world lately has been doing things in the extremes. Let's hope that the next extreme relates to winter weather extremes!!

Tick tock, cold season is on the clock. Much of Mowvember looks cooked,we'll see late month but we may just want to FF to December. That's one month gone

One more month gone where? November doesn't matter let it be warm until the last week. Pattern flip still in the cards.

Absolutely Steve.  Some of These people are hype driven, and are just looking for attention.  Trying to tell us that November is a winter month…it’s comical.

back in the day we'd (SNE) usually at least see a little snow in the air Oct/early Novie.  That seems to have become more of a rarity

That’s more fake news. Ya 3 years ago 10/30/21 was so long ago. And mid November of ‘18 was so long ago too(very nice SWFE).  It happens randomly every so often.

Nov 26, 2014... Day before turkey day... Evening pic.

We had 13.0" of dry 10:1 snow on 26-27, the only 10"+ event I've seen in November.
(13 months after our late October 1985 move south from Fort Kent, they had a 21" dump.  Missed again.)

In 27 Octobers, we've had 6 with measurable snow, 10 with a trace and now 11 with no frozen (assuming none will fall today while it's sunny and near 70).

And mid November of ‘18 was so long ago too(very nice SWFE).  It happens randomly every so often.

2018 was our snowiest November with 23.5", with 5 separate snow events.  However, the most memorable event that month was the Arctic blast on T-Day.  Temp was 11/-3 with gusts into the 40s.  And that max was set at my 9 PM obs time the evening before; only got up to 9 in the afternoon.  The high of 17 at PWM is 5° colder than any other November day, POR from 1920.

That is correct....flurries in Oct and Nov were more common. As was the ground beginning to freeze.

yeah I wasn't speaking of widespread accumulating snows or even snowstorms, just a few flakes in the air as well as frost/freezes.  It's probably anecdotal but they seemed more frequent say 15 years ago and prior.  It's late Sept./ early Oct. feel out there with full-on yellowjackets, flies, spiders still thriving.
