They could be blowing up top for sure this weekend…and in past years they would have…late thanksgiving will help, but i would be nervous.

.

The ensembles aren’t great for sure… even getting random Op runs like the 6z GFS where the 540 thickness doesn’t go underneath us again for the entirety of the run after today.

Could be a slow ramp up this year.  But we’ll get a bunch more nice days on the bike/hike trails.

Just mowed.  Mostly to chop leaves but did tidy up what grass I have.  (My lawn would give some SNE folks a heart attack.  It is pretty bad thanks to awful soil in the flat area behind the house, it being a lower priority than getting the planting structure in place, and two labradors who run and dig everywhere.  On the plus side the labs have effectively weeded out all the tendril spreading weeds in the back while playing fetch.

Lettuce is still growing under a cloche but the potato plants (late planted) are now toast.

Already down to 32 at a nearby PWS here in Enfield. It's gonna be a chilly one.

It's only a chilly night these days if the peppers suffer on a hilltop in CT.

28F here, and forecast calls for 20F tonight, but increasing high/mid level clouds could stifle it up here.

I keep thinking these nights are chilly, but I saw an 8F back in 2020 with 7-10" of snow on the ground even down here in the valley on 11/2-3/2020.  I do not remember that early shot of winter, ha.

Should I be worried? Screams of a night where there’s a 17-20 degree difference between here and 650’

You stay mixed or mix out with the best of them, I'm low key fascinated by how hard it is for your spot to decouple at all.  Just free air up there that never goes truly calm.

Warm front will lift through and 850mb winds go SW tonight... perfect set-up for a strong inversion and cold air pooling in the valleys, on its way out of the region as the air mass gets pushed NE.

On it's way out aloft, but leaving behind some residual cold pockets at the surface.  Here's 850mb as everyone down low falls to freezing or below.

35.9 here while it’s 25 on the green at 650’. My low was 35.0
