When we say growing season..we mean gardens..not lawns. Gardens have been done here for a few weeks. Some areas the gardens I guess are still growing, like Tolland and S Wey.

All our summer flowers got killed in the frost a few weeks back unfortunately. Lucky for you.

Same here. Its like full summer. Here on the shoreline I have hit 60 or above every day for the last 31 days. Haven't even come close to a freeze/frost here with just 2 lows of 39 the 2nd being this morning. 

BDR hasn't gone below 38 yet.

I have irrigation and have been mowing every 4-5 days still.  This was yesterday.

I’m definitely a micro climate. Even the coop a few miles east in Hingham hit the 20s. But still it’s been a torch.

I have real cheap city water and the resovoir is at like 86% capacity so no drought here.

Even with the warmth..we’ve had a lot of cold nights here this autumn. Which has felt nice.

AWT.. no freeze . They made it thru just fine and Jim Dandy. A freeze happens with lows in upper 20’s for a few hours  . Not an hour under 32

I've been researching them for growing in pots. There's a few newer ones that have made it over from Russia that are similar in cold hardiness. I think the key for getting fruit is finding the one that ripens the earliest. Even if the fruit don't ripen in time it'd probably make a nice ornamental. How low did you get in Feb '23?

Are they under trees? That could help. But you may want to give it another couple of hours to see if they show the effects more. Peppers really don't like sub 40F.

Nope. They are out and exposed with no trees . And even if they were under a tree.. there’s no leaves left

Good point. Sometimes you look at them early and they look good. Then a few hrs later, they start to show the damage.

Got to like -11. That probably would have hurt.

Only reason why it takes longer to get a freeze here, is being on a small hill and having some flow over the water. If the wind is like 340 like last night the airmass modifies slightly. I only notice it really this time of year when Logan can be colder than here on that wind. I can literally go down the street and it’s several degrees cooler.

As long as 81 is not 80s next time you scream torch, it makes complete sense.

We had an early November snow event I think in 2014 where I had a mix here and about 1.5 miles west had like 2” of paste. I remember literally going down my street to take a left and I could see the snow on the trees pasted on a hill a mile away while it was basically a mix here. Same wind direction, NNW. Was actually crazy to see. 
 

Same storm brought 2” to my parents in Marshfield on west side of town. That NNW wind direction is off the land for awhile down there so they weren’t directly getting warmth by conduction off the water like I did despite being SE of me. 
 

Same reason why in November 2018 I had almost 6” of snow with light ESE winds while Jay in Southie was choking on catpaws. Cool to see these things.

They could be blowing up top for sure this weekend…and in past years they would have…late thanksgiving will help, but i would be nervous.
