Should be another AN to well AN month. Maybe a mild down this coming weekend. Some signs it may try to shake up later on in the month.

Is "mild down" the new official term for cool down?  Is it that even in an incredibly warm period, we can never cool down, because, you know, everything just sucks?  I thought you were back?

It's a mild cool down. I'm not exaggerating anything...it looks pretty darn warm to start. Like I said, some signs it could change later on in the month.

I’d rather not waste any cold/favorable patterns , bring on the warmth. Let’s shake things up starting on Turkey Day!

The comments each year about let’s keep it hot until Tgiving never cease to amaze me. Yeah.. let’s waste a potential winter storm month in the hopes it gets cold and snowy for Nov 27th . Which then gets pushed back 3 weeks and you’re left hoping it happens in time for Xmas. Then you’re into January and winter is half over

When did you get so pessimistic? LOL. You've just about written off this winter already. And you've been poo-pooing the fall constantly.  Maybe it's your defense mechanism, maybe it's reverse psychology... Who knows.  Get a grip man!!! Lol

You have no right to complain about people wanting the AN temps to continue on...lol

Are you saying you want to make November great again?

Same old nonsense.  I agree with Steve and Seymour…nobody needs any damp dreary crap until around T Day.  If it came a little earlier so be it. But the weather has been stellar…keep it going another few weeks…by that time a flip will be imminent.  We’ve had perfect weather for about 10 weeks already..it won’t last a whole lot longer.

I just want it to flip after Thanksgiving and have a good December for once. Right now, I'm enjoying the mild weather.

Dear DIT,

November is not a winter month. Never has been, never will be unless you live above the arctic circle.

I average somewhere around 3-4” in November, and I live in NH (not New Haven)

It can and does and used to snow almost every November . A warm, snowless November typically leads to a mild and not snowy winter. Those hoping it stays dry and warm and sunny will be the same ones watching and believing the models as the” great pattern” is pushed back every 2 weeks. You’d think you’d have learned .

Beer.

I didn’t say that it didn’t snow in November, did I?

Ha!!! That's the pot calling the kettle black!

All jokes aside... I know you get juiced up when we hit some good ole Winter weather. We're all just a bunch of weather geeks, nerds, gurus, ect... And most of us  are looking for that's classic set up this Winter.

Agreed. People just wish casting that everything flips by December. A warm October/November is often a winter death knell.

Seasonal models also show this.

How far back are you going on these November’s that feature snow? The climate record says otherwise:

Agreed. Every once in a while we get snow in November.  Of course there’s T Giving 1989. Night before T Giving 02 I believe it snowed. 4 years ago(2020) we had 2-3” of snow on 10/30.  Back in November of ‘18 we had a good SWFE.  2012 we had a good snow event in November. It happens, but it’s random and not all that common.  Nice when it does. But it should not be expected on a regular basis in SNE imo.

Was it 2002 of the Thanksgiving snow or 2004 (or maybe both years). But that 2004 one (assuming I got the year right) was pretty solid. I remember we got an early dismissal from school that day. It was snowing pretty hard by late morning. Want to say I got like 5-8'' in West Hartford...maybe not quite 8.
