Interesting coincidence at this time of year, early November. It's not exactly an analog, well, not 100% match by any means. There was a deep trough in AZ/NM that created a heavy snow storm for the Plains in 1991. It was coincident to the Perfect Storm. It's partially because the Perfect Storm blocked up the ridge in the east. There was 10"-20" by Pueblo and Trinidad. The snow continued up the Plains with, I believe, 15-30" by Duluth, Minnesota. Maybe Mayjawintastawm actually was in Massachusetts for the Perfect Storm's waves. Maybe you saw George Clooney sail out on the Andrea Gail.

In fact, I was in NJ for the Perfect Storm. I had an overnight ED shift in Philadelphia where I was a resident, and so had the day to sightsee before I went to work. The surge on Long Beach Island was something I didn't anticipate and nearly trapped me and my car- was able to drive through hubcap deep seawater and get onto the bridge home with probably less than an hour to spare. That was almost a GIANT oops.... but got some fantastic pictures. I should have known to get out of there when the only vehicles around were news trucks...

This is epic. The great storm of December 1st-5th 1913 had over 40" in Denver and this says 38" east of Denver.

By the way I did a quick check of the biggest snowstorm in Colorado Springs (Airport) in modern times and it was something like 19.5 in October 1997. (1997-1998 El Nino)

Looks like 32-34" for my back yard based on area reports.

I flew out of town Friday morning. Took off 2 hours late due to various delays and an insane 45 minute deicing process.

dang. I think the difference between 20"+ and 30"+ was mainly banding. We never had heavy snow, just almost continuous x 84 hours to get to our 22.4". There was at least one band just east of Parker that you probably got into.

blizzard warnings, hurricane force wind warning offshore, high wind warnings

And a Red Flag Warning for the entire state of Massachusetts. I spent over 30 years there, and fire danger in November wasn't ever a thing, even remotely. November has always been a time of cold drizzle and depression from lack of sunlight, for the most part.
