I don’t recall that winter. Epic December? In what way?

Very cold.  I remember it because we had just moved to Anne Arundel around Halloween, and the swamp pond down the road froze over and became covered with an inch of snow. Doesn't normally happen until Jan/Feb; if at all.

BWI and IAD went below freezing every day of the month. Average anomaly -8, -9,  or more. Not much snow though.

I remember that December.  I was in college up in Flint, MI and it was the night before my Digitals 2 final and Flint got a historic blizzard with over a foot of snow.  We played football all night in the snow instead of studying but the next day the entire city was shut down and they canceled the final exam and project presentation and just gave everybody the grade we had at the time as our final class grade for the semester.

Crazy dry. It hasn't rained since the beginning of August here. We had some drizzle in September that didn't add up to anything and not even a cloud in October.

It’s a remarkable pattern. We’ve basically become a semi-arid steppe climate.

Ok. Super weird shit going on where I'm hiking. I'm about a mile into Bacon Ridge, Crownsville. The woods are super quiet. As I walking along I felt a raindrop on my arm. I stopped and can hear raindrops hitting the dry leaves. The weird thing is that their isn't a cloud in the sky. WTF is falling on me? Where is water coming from? It's been going on for about 10 minutes. I can feel raindrops hitting me as I type. The flight patch to BWI is right over this area. Could an airplane drop water for some reason? This is the third time I've experienced this in the past year.

I feel like I just won about 99 billion in mega millions with the megaplier.

It's 90 degrees with a 66 dewpoint with a few puffy cumulus. Nice southerly winds. No rain for weeks. Fall will be more like summer. I love Ninas in south Texas! Its Oct 30, nearly November! INCREDIBLE weather!! :) :)

Water can fall from leaves. It has happened to me down here in Texas in August in clear skies under a tree, water raining down on me from the leaves.

Record Halloween high for DC was 85 and the p&c is 84.  Gonna be close!  After some low 60s over the weekend we zoom back to 80 by midweek.  Crazy

Oh and @dailylurker on the lanternflies -- we have a lot and they like to hang out up in the trees.  I've seen the drops falling esp in late afternoon as the sun is behind them.  We have residue all over the deck.  Soon it'll be getting all over our cars, etc.  Thanks a lot Jinping
