Too dry. I have to water the new grass and then ofc it becomes a feeding ground for the moles as the earthworms come up towards the surface.

Soil moisture is truly extreme near 17.8 %

Overseeding  this year has been very difficult.

The month as a whole looks very dry.

I'm trying to recall the last time when every GFS run was wall to wall dry run after run. I mean it's nice out but dang we need a little bit of moisture from time to time

It hasn't rained here in months. We had drizzle and mist for 3 weeks but no actual rain. It's getting seriously dry out there. Creeks are drying up again.

Has anyone noticed that, with the exception of the winter and spring of this year, every time it looks like the dry pattern is going to change it doesn't?

Last year there was a huge rain event in late April that appeared on models to usher in a wetter pattern, but instead it was followed by nothing at all and a super dry May erased any improvement.

A similar thing happened last fall and most recently the rain stretch 2-3 weeks ago.

Did we swap climates with California sometime in the winter of 22-23?

La Niña tends to be drier doesn’t it? We’ve had a lot of La Niña over the past 5 years.

It was a pretty short niño though.

Yea, it seems like we've had basically no southern stream for a couple years now.  We're just getting scraps from systems to the north and the south.
