As much as I’m loving the wall to wall sunshine, I’m jonesing for a wound up fall system. The wall to wall sunshine has been amazing and enjoyable for sure. Definitely looking forward to it becoming more active. It was very nice hearing rain this morning. Plus I am ready to be done with the bugs/beetles; while they have decreased, I want them gone!! OrdIowPitMsp
Tied the record high of 75 yesterday. Making a push to 80 today with how mild the overnight lows are. Flakes might mix in for Halloween???

Went to get ready for a work at 5AM, had to fetch something from my car beforehand, and it was 66 degrees lol.
Lightning
3 days in a row of 30-40MPH wind gusts expected. This will help remove many of the leaves from the trees. Oaks and Norway Maples, as usual, will be the trees with the last leaves standing!!
SchaumburgStormer
Going to straight torch today. Took some time to convince my kids that they did not need thick sweatshirts for school today. Also guessing we see some significant field/brush fires in the next couple days.
Brian D
And so it begins! Looks like up to an inch of precip possible for me in the next couple days. That would be nice. Higher terrain getting in on some snow action, as well. Just a mix here in town. 1

TheClimateChanger
Looks like the lower Mississippi might approach the record low levels set last October in the upcoming days. Army Corps going to be out there doing some dredging work, I'm sure.

Must be one of the latest 80F days on record in South Bend, I'd reckon.

Torchageddon
I'm also going to enjoy some of the historic warmth, already 18C (high of 20C soon), tomorrow high of 23C! Probably near the record but my dataset sucks socks. Most unbelievable; the low overnight of 17C/64F!!!

This is the third latest 80 degree day on record in South Bend. The latest 80+ day is November 1st, done twice, when it hit 82 on November 1, 1950 and 80 on November 1, 1933. cyclone77
MLI tied the record high today with 84. Only got down to 67 last night/this morning here. As expected a lot of color was stripped from the trees the past few days. Now mostly oaks with the best color.

OrdIowPitMsp
Record high of 80 yesterday for Minneapolis. The 2nd latest 80 on record behind 10/31/1950. Winter storm warnings north of the metro. Someone in central Minnesota will see 3-6 of slushy accumulation tomorrow. My confidence is increasing that at the very least I’ll see first flakes imby tomorrow.
