Arctic airmass and we only -4 for two days; today and tomorrow.

Then we +15 and +20…

Rinse repeat.

Pretty weak Arctic airmass, but good radiating sites will be more like -8 to -10, then +15 on Thursday before dropping to near seasonal by the weekend.

Teens tonight, Going to be a cold morning in the ground blind.

I was just thinking that.

Leaving work and the shadows immediately felt like the surface of the moon.  Like it got cold real fast.  Snow up here didn’t even blink today.  Good preservation for October.

Pretty good staying power for a day a full sun in October. Down to 25 already.

You’re going to the surface of the moon tonight.

29F here.

That’s why I think your spot is the ideal weather weenie topography… not just the physical location necessarily but the overall topography.  Get the elevation snows and the radiational cooling.  High elevated valley.

Probably chillier now than it’ll be in the middle of the winter season for much of the area. Thank the high heavens for some moisture coming tomorrow too, we need it badly! Starting to see a few dust clouds flying along the sides of the street lol.

It’s perfect for those who love miserable weather :). I love the scenery - especially with all the red spruces - and the upslope here. I’m not as into the extremes, from that perspective I’d rather have a North Conway climate - but they do lose several weeks of snowcover compared to us up higher and while they have greater snow depths and do really well while we get downsloped, the lack of upslope there is annoying. Can’t have it all, I guess!
