This is his defense mechanism. He has to err on the side of caution and get all pessimistic. But as soon as that first snowstorm comes, he'll get on that bandwagon... And that's when Mr. Optimistic comes into play. Mark my words.

Imagine single digits in October? It’s only 9pm. Looking at it, you probably really slow the drop in the mid-teens, but damn that’s a fast drop into the teens. You’ve got the solid snow cover too that should take an extra couple degrees off.

rimetree Posted yesterday at 02:21 AM Share Posted yesterday at 02:21 AM 30.0 on the dot right now. Got to about 49F this afternoon and noticed the low dews earlier snapped back suddenly around 4pm...went from 11F to 29F in a blink. Saw a few lonely flakes this morning.

DavisStraight Posted yesterday at 02:28 AM Share Posted yesterday at 02:28 AM I remember an unseasonably warm Halloween when I was 10-11 years old, took my little sister's trick or treating, went to a neighbor's house and he decided to pour a concrete stair due to the warm weather, dummy didn't rope it off and I stepped in the newly poured concrete, wrecked my newer pair of PF Flyers. Dumb ass.

But hey, I’ll take the warmer morning.

H7 got saturated after midnight so I figured some areas may underachieve in terms of cold. Congrats Maine and Cape Cod.

Yes, there was a thin layer on Burns Pond yesterday which is a fairly large body of water, so I imagine smaller ones are decently frozen. On of our weather guys here in CT made mention of this on his live feed he does every morning. He's predicting that we'll see our first bit of snow in CT sometime between November 24th and 27th. We'll see if that comes to fruition. But it's nice to see signs pointing in that direction. In the meantime, we need some kind of rainstorm to come through here. Let's hope something appears out of nowhere within the next two weeks.
Go Kart Mozart
It's the anniversary of Sandy. To my eye, there are far fewer leaves on the trees this year than there were in 2012, and that's without a big windstorm to hasten the process. Stein related? Cold nights?
