Figured I'd start this to track rain/frost/temps/colors as fall takes over. 

 

That big storm that just rolled over left me with .58 inches of rainfall.

Tornado warned storm with a nice hook on radar just went over Sneedville

This is now a confirmed tornado

Another absolute drencher underway now here. 

I saw that NWS was doing a survey tomorrow on the likely tornado. I believe that's the same storm that poured on me earlier today.

We dodged one there, man.  That was headed right towards us without a lot to disrupt it.  I saw where MRX is maybe sending out a team to look at the damage today.

Clocked 1.85 inches of rain in the last 24 hours. Rain is currently light.

Yeah I went for a little run but kept close to my car. I’m glad I did because the lightning got intense fast.

Tornado was an ef1 per MRX.

3.93in since midnight. Combined with the 0.44 yesterday brings me to 4.37 and we’re just getting started. This is easily the most rain I’ve seen in a 24hr period in a very long time!

Midnight came with 2.05 inches falling here since yesterday evening. We didn't get the evening conveyor belt.

Moderate rain, some large river flooding.  Winds are light but an increase since 6:00PM.

Very heavy rain falling at midnight. 1.8 inches of rain today. 4.5 inches this week so far. 

La Nina 1995 was hot and dry that ended cooler and wet when September and October came along. Hurricane Opal made 1995 particularly wet imby.

Picked up an additional half inch in the hour and a half since midnight. My last check until morning. Moderate rain still coming down.

Getting a nice dryslot with flow over the mountains across the upper Holston Valley with low-level flow crossing over mountains. Air temperatures have climbed to 71° here as well. Will be interesting to see how long it takes the precipitation shield to power over as Helene moves across the spine of the Apps. At any rate, a nice break from the rain for now.

Well, that escalated quickly. Raining buckets now and pretty steady 20-30 mph ESE gusts. I will be shocked if there aren't widespread outages around KTRI if the wind gusts hit 50+. The trees are anchored by mashed potatoes at this point.

I think we had 20-25 mph about 30 minutes ago with a heavier cell. It has moved on and the wind died down in Chatty. 

Kind of hoping the wind picks up again, but that might have been it. I was busy and didn't record anything. While 25 mph is meh, I would like to document TS Helene. Rare to get anything greater than a TD in Tenn. We'll see maybe background wind midday.

Had a 45mph gust that knocked my power out at around 8:30 this morning. Tons of trees down and power has been off for three hours. Finally came out to town. Power is also out there. Tree and leaf debris everywhere. 2.5 inches of rain since midnight.

Another .45 inches of rain today. High was only 65. Got back from Tri area around 6:00pm. From around Claiborne county to my house it was steady rain/fog. Looked and felt like late October or Early November.

67 today with .30 inches of rainfall. Drizzle out there right now.

This makes 9 days straight it has rained here. Picked up 1.38 since Sunday. All from remnants of Helene moving back east out of Kentucky.

Got .38 inches of rain today from an absolute soaker of a shower that rolled over.

Made it to 31 this morning. First freeze of the season.

The rain just will not move east. It blossoms once it gets into Kentucky but we can't get a drop to spread into East Tennessee.

Looks like fires have exploded across SE Kentucky this afternoon. I expect that here if we don't get rain tonight. And it's looking poor in that regard.
