These were the rainfall amounts for the great flood of 1940. While idk if we hit the maxes in the illustration, this storm certainly will dump elevated totals on a larger area. In short - worried about everybody but especially worried locally for the Wilson Creek gorge and those downstream of Johns River and the Catawba. 1940 hurricane came from Hilton Head and went into GA before going north. 1916 was really the worst case scenario. A storm from the gulf and a storm from the Atlantic within a week or so. Devastation to the railroads then. If that happened now I dont want to think how bad it would be.

I hope all these modeled precipitation outputs are wrong or it decides to change direction on us. Even in a mild drought that's way to much rainfall all at once. Here's to open it's not historic lol. gtg947h
I realize the setup is much different but I'm still remided of Alberto in 1994, which basically sat right over our house for a couple days and dumped a ton of rain...

Shack
Looks like HPC has the track centered about 40 miles west of my home in Macon. That would put us in the windy side of things. GFS has the center east of us, Euro has it west.

BooneWX
Interesting battle going on at the moment: globals are west slightly from yesterday but 3 out of the 4 hurricane models have wobbled east and like the idea of landfall near Steinhatchee and Perry. Impacts are widespread regardless but an eastern nudge wouldn’t bode well for us in Western NC.
strongwxnc
3.03” of rain since 5 pm yesterday 3.44” here all last night with super heavy thunder and lighting. I was shocked at my total this morning .
