Well hopefully with the drought and maybe they've made some room for the excess water.

Back in 2018 when I was living in Virginia there was significant flooding in May. They had a small landslide near the dam making a sensor go off for imminent dam failure and my family had to evacuate and stay at the YMCA for 2 or 3 days while they investigated it. It's been there since the 1920s and seen some major floods.

Watching Jason Boyer on WLOS, this is as intense as I have ever seen him.

He is doing an excellent job. That is the way that you present a serious weather situation. I know he gets some flack, but he is nailing this event.

Just spoke to an Emergency service coordinator for Haywood county.  He told me they are expecting some spots to get 16 to 18 inches of rainfall and possibly be as bad as the 2004 hurricanes that came through...

That was back to back storms.

Storm discussion aside - sending everyone prayers and positive vibes this evening as we begin what’s likely to be a historic event for this region, impacting many folks harshly. I wish I could use the term historic to describe a winter storm but this is what we have for now!
