TROPICAL STORM WARNING IN EFFECT...

A Tropical Storm Warning means tropical storm-force winds are
expected somewhere within this area within the next 36 hours

* LOCATIONS AFFECTED
    - Waynesville

* WIND
    - LATEST LOCAL FORECAST: Tropical storm force winds remain
      possible
        - Peak Wind Forecast: 15-25 mph with gusts to 45 mph

    - THREAT TO LIFE AND PROPERTY THAT INCLUDES TYPICAL FORECAST
      UNCERTAINTY IN TRACK, SIZE AND INTENSITY: Potential for wind 39
      to 57 mph
        - The wind threat has remained nearly steady from the
          previous assessment.
        - PLAN: Plan for hazardous wind of equivalent tropical storm
          force.
        - PREPARE: Efforts to protect property should now be
          underway. Prepare for limited wind damage.
        - ACT: Act now to complete preparations before the wind
          becomes hazardous.

    - POTENTIAL IMPACTS: Limited
        - Damage to porches, awnings, carports, sheds, and unanchored
          mobile homes. Unsecured lightweight objects blown about.
        - Many large tree limbs broken off. A few trees snapped or
          uprooted, but with greater numbers in places where trees
          are shallow rooted. Some fences and roadway signs blown
          over.
        - A few roads impassable from debris, particularly within
          urban or heavily wooded places. Hazardous driving
          conditions on bridges and other elevated roadways.
        - Scattered power and communications outages.

* FLOODING RAIN
    - LATEST LOCAL FORECAST: Flood Watch is in effect
        - Peak Rainfall Amounts: Additional 8-12 inches, with locally
          higher amounts

Back in 2018 when I was living in Virginia there was significant flooding in May. They had a small landslide near the dam making a sensor go off for imminent dam failure and my family had to evacuate and stay at the YMCA for 2 or 3 days while they investigated it. It's been there since the 1920s and seen some major floods.

He is doing an excellent job. That is the way that you present a serious weather situation. I know he gets some flack, but he is nailing this event.

That was back to back storms.

Storm discussion aside - sending everyone prayers and positive vibes this evening as we begin what’s likely to be a historic event for this region, impacting many folks harshly. I wish I could use the term historic to describe a winter storm but this is what we have for now!
