Looks like we probably had 2” at my place before sleet knocked it down some. Sleet/snow mix that can’t make up its mind what it wants to do.  See what, if any, flow snow adds to it.  I figured 3-4” storm total was what we’d end up with even though my mind wouldn’t let me believe the snow hole over Asheville would actually reach up and over the mountains here into Haywood and a general 4-6” would be more likely.  Been burned too much by low moisture in the dendrite growth zone resulting in tiny flakes and sleet. Add to that the fact that isn’t mostly either snow or rain for the most part at this elevation and my area except for early and late winter time periods when sleet happens more and I think it was more a moisture thing than thermals but that’s probably a dead wrong guess. Still, fun day skiing and enjoying the winter weather!

Back to snow now big ole flakes a flying. Seems to have underperformed unless the flow snow kicks in high gear. It sure has been a fun day though! Hopefully will get a few more of these day this year.

We have just over 4" here. Heavy snow amd sleet mix. All the sleet kept accumulation down

I'll wait until tomorrow morning to post my assessment but it seems like I was wrong about the NAM. I'll admit that I should have looked at it harder.  I'm still happy with today though.

I’m really surprised also, it may end up with the N Mnts being the winners from this one. I certainly have some egg on my face at this point.

Wow, what part of the county are you in? I’m about to reach 3” here in Cowee. Snow is coming down good again and it’s good size flakes.

I know I busted on my call. Wx Knurd has a point though. We tried to get up to Soco Gap this afternoon, but unfortunately there were too many 2 wheel drive folks up ahead of us spinning all over the road, so we turned back. I bet the totals up there are respectable. It will be interesting to see what Cataloochee ends with tomorrow morning.

I strongly believe we are  not done yet. Next week is looking intriguing and even beyond. The CPC is honking on the cold with moisture continuing for the next couple of weeks. I guess we'll see!

I know they closed it from the Pkwy thru the reservation this morning at 8. Our intention was to turn around at the Pkwy, but unfortunately folks from out of town obviously thought they could make with 2 wheel drive...lol

Soco is usually the sweet spot for snow. You can go up old soco rd and get up to elevations over 5000 ft

I probably have 8 inches on my balcony railing.  I haven't been outside, so cant verify what's there, but it's been snowing steady since 1030 this morning.  Very nice storm up here.  I was worried about temps at one point since it got to 32, but it stayed snow all day.

Based on report totals from GSP you have the most!
