I think you can extend that eastern heavy snow boundary all the way to the escarpment but overall a good sign. The latest ICON run looked good for WNC as well.

BooneWX
@calculus1we can top this. These folks have never seen the hotels on Hwy 70 in the snow. Magical stuff. We could even show them where the Spirit Halloween pops up once a year.

Maybe the old Yesterday’s on NC 127 that’s now a plasma donation center will have a special sparkle with a couple inches of snow on the roof. We do get great views of Grandfather Mountain from US 321-N approaching the Catawba River on clear days. We just imagine what it must be like to have snow on the ground around us rather than a few short miles to our west and a half-plus mile up. 1

buckeyefan1
The cliff diving is absolutely priceless It hasn’t even come onshore yet and there’s no obs of any ground truth. The short and shorter range models are coming in with the thermals a touch colder and a larger precip field for our western neighbors. Plus, they still have almost a day before it even starts. This is the first legit chance of anything frozen for me in 3 years and I’m going to ride this pony until it’s finished

Actually, the SW mtns have not even really had a bad model run yet. They are definitely money. Also, just an inch of snow at this point would make me happy. So, the bar is pretty low regardless. We still have almost 2 full days until go time. Anything can happen.
