Ryno23
Hey y'all. No clue about next weekend's system. The holler I'm in, we only get rain or snow. Sleet on occasion. Inversion is common. Currently warming to 49 with gusty SW winds.

Met1985
Things still look great to me. Snow should come in This late afternoon through tomorrow morning. An advisory should be put out this afternoon. This weekend looks like a mess but the storm signal is there and I'll be happy with any wintery precipitation we get.
Maggie Valley Steve
Starting out the day at 48°. Had sunshine like Met1985, but clouds have rolled back in. Welcome Ryno23.
Met1985
This looks really good. I'd say 2 to 6 inches along the border. Even though we got rain overnight the ground is cold and won't take much to refreeze. Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk

Some accumulation over most of Buncombe. Hopefully, that is correct.

Maggie Valley Steve
I'm not worried about the Friday event. The ensembles and National Blend are all showing snow with no mixing issues at this point. Obviously the finer details will be worked out throughout the week, but to me that is enough of a signal at this range to suggest we have a good shot of accumulating snow even in Asheville and likely the foothills. 3

Met1985
12z gfs is interesting. A couple inches of snow then sleet then freezing rain back to snow. That would create a freaking glacier.

NavarreDon
Good afternoon Mnt peeps! Hope you had a blessed holiday season. My prayers are for a continued recovery in the region! My snow spidey sense is going off about the upcoming weekend event. Historically & synoptically this set up provides the Mnts and to an extent the foothills a decent snow. There is still a lot to iron out but someone is probably going to have some fun. Hope you don’t mind if I pop in every now and then to give my 1.5 cents worth. . 8
